DAVID HENRY HWANG, presently Tony nominated for YELLOW FACE for 2025 best dramatic play., an American playwright, librettist, screenwriter, and theater professor at Columbia University in New York City. He has won three Obie Awards for his plays FOB, Golden Child, and Yellow Face. He has one Tony Award (M. Butterfly) and two other nominations (Golden Child and Flower Drum Song). Three of his works (M. Butterfly, Yellow Face, and Soft Power) have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. He helped Prince write the song Solo with spoken word. Currently writing for the revival of Flower Drum Song for EW Players premiere in 2026 at his David Henry Hwang Theater!
