Description

A podcast for those wanting personal development but want it made simple and easy to understand and more importantly use, take action and make a difference to your life and the world you live in.

If you want to change the way you feel and the way you act and react. If you have negative emotions, behaviours, that you want to lose forever and create something special in your life then I think you will like what you hear.

This genre of self-improvement, self-development and mastery of your mind has, I believe, been made over complicated and secretive and here I am de-constructing the processes into their simple forms that we can all understand and easily use. There’s no interviews just little ol’ me ;0)

Who am I and what do I do?………Paul Clough.

I now love helping making changes in people and guiding them to create the life they really want.

A personal look at me:

The above sentence was not always the case and being the best in the financial realms of the building industry was my aim and getting there by any means. I now know this is, and was, the worst way ~ even if I did make director of one of the largest building companies in Cambridge by the age of 30.

One of the major realisations came on my first ever training in hypnosis. I found that it’s not a win lose world and that a win win is only a low basis to live.

Being true to your beliefs and coming from a place of integrity where service is paramount. This understanding together with lots of NLP skills helped create my last partnership in the building industry grow from a turnover of £800k to £16m in less than twelve years and that can only be done with giving more than expected.

Another shaping of me came from two traumatic events in my life that happened within six months of each other which created a number of major changes in me and by beliefs in what is possible. I have written about my experience and how I dealt with it but more importantly it really showed me my love for my three boys and theirs for me and resulted in the step up to become a trainer of NLP (which I never intended) and my close and exciting work with two of my sons. In supporting Joseph and help create change in people in our training’s and his wonderful life changing ‘Be your potential weekend’ and with Luke the continuing development of Cambridge Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis processes. My relationship with my third son Daniel just keeps getting better and better too.

Not knowing how good I had become in change work in the beginning I generally studied, practiced and saw clients then things started to happen when I started to work following just my instincts. Two clients come to mind both in effect dying from the effects of what was happening to them and the way they felt and within one and two sessions respectively not only won the will to live they changed virtually in front of my eyes and being apart of that process was and is the best feeling alive.

The above are just three of many brilliant learnings I have had in my life.

Finding Your Super Power And as usual, it's hiding in plain sight Yes, you have your own personal Super Power and it's NOT anything like Fake it until you make it which so many push to make them look good and to your detriment. That doesn't happen here and I'll share with you a story from my childhood that even now as I recall it makes me feel awesome and this is the process I'll dive into so we can all use it. And when you do find and use this superpower you cannot not notice the difference it makes immediately and stays with you. So let's STOP and PAUSE, just for a moment, and let me guide you to one of your sources of this superpower. Let your unconscious and conscious minds come together and re-remind you of what gems lie deep inside for you to use. Add this to your dreams and goals, in fact, anything and everything you want or are in the middle of doing right now and you will see, hear, smell, taste, and feel the success that's yours to claim and experience. In as little as 3 minutes you will start the process of success Compare that, after you do it, to that old experience of Faking it, and BOOM! Never again will you go to go back to being fake and you will commit to the psychology and physiology or Excellence. You might think I'm 'Bigging' this up and I am but not for me but to see you take great leaps in your personal development. I'm Better Than This We both are In the past when I felt down sometimes I used to leave it, try to ignore it. Did that work? Mostly no. What about you? Lately, I have been feeling down but when I've been down I decided to deal with it, there and then. I want to share how I have learned to change that down feeling and stopped that down feeling from growing worse. And what I've learned has only reinforced what we do here. If you will come with me and stop and check in. When I did I found out things that were just below the surface and really made me think this needs dealing with - now. Take Your Own Medicine Cloughie What's the basis of making all good things happen for you? Would you want to know that? What would happen if you did know? And a usual, it's both simple and hiding in plain sight. All you have to do is do it and feel it. The thing is you do the process already, you just might not know you're doing it - It's a natural process so you can't not do it! Dreamers Or Making Reality Or better still BOTH! Do you love dreaming, dreaming of goals, the things that would make us feel fullfilled? How does dreaming feel? When you really are drawn to those dreams because you want them so badly, goodly? But first, we have to ask a really tough question and I'm brave enough to ask you that, being a supporter of you, I have to. But when we answer it and take on the thoughts that I share with you your dreams will not remain wishes that disappear on the wind but we will make them into a reality, our, your reality! The thing is you will be, are,  made to feel negative about your dreams by so many things right in front of you or in your peripheral vision even though you might think consciously otherwise. Let's explore this and the emotions and beliefs that are unconsciously just below the surface and find out HOW we can learn and change them into emotions and beliefs that really support us and get us doing those dreams better than you could, can imagine. Why is it important to do stuff better 'Stuff' Being the technical word for Everything! Following on from the FMQ episode 331 How Good Can you get and be - because you don't know let's add to that with this deeper look 'HOW' you can actually learn to be better than you think you can. The bit that most fail to tell you when they show you the 'What' to do. And no this isn't the only way and it's not a secret way it's ways that you can learn and be able to do with a little effort. Yes, I know and hear "But do I really have to do this can't I just listen?" and the answer is - of course you can just listen=- if you want to stay the same or slide backwards - It's your choice But when you take just a little action you start the inertia, the movement and the motivation that just gets stronger as it gets easier. How Good Can You Get and Be? A Flash of the Obvious We set ourselves goals, targets, and outcomes and the thing is would it be important to you to know how well they will turn out and how good they could be. Well, guess what - You fool yourself into thinking that you know but you don't in fact when you think you do know you've set yourself a limit and in reality limited yourself. That's why it's important not to know and fully experience the results and know there's always more to experience, even better experiences are awaiting you when you throw off that limitation. Letting Go In 4 Easy Steps Would being able to change something you do or feel be valuable to you, would that be important? If that was easy to do and comfortable to do what would you change? Breaking down/deconstructing the complicated is what I do here so in this episode I have created a process to let go of an issue. Is there something you would like to change say in your behavior or reaction to something or someone? Maybe you have some feeling that doesn't feel quite right  - We've all got something we would like to let go of or change haven't we? I have deliberately kept this very conversational so as to make it flow and be a 'do with' process. If you want to dive straight in then come on in but if you want to listen first before, a taste as it were just make sure you have nothing that needs your attention(like driving, etc.) and simply listen with your eyes open then when you're comfortable - listen again. And I wanted to see if you're gonna come along with me on solving an issue solving a problem.   0:22 Oh,   0:23 I forgot to mention when I recorded this, that, if you're going to do this with me, Do make sure that you're going to be okay. I want to say, Okay, what I mean is that you're not driving the car, it's not hypnotic, by the way. But it's better that you can really focus your attention on what we're doing. But if you're just listening to it, it's fine. But if you want to get the most out of it, that's more importantly, if you want to get the most out of it, just put some time aside to listen to it. But if you're not just gonna listen to us as you're walking, or you're commuting or doing whatever, do then come back and, and just do that process again, cuz you really enjoy it. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that now. Anyway, back to the episode. So I've got this little process I've been working on.   1:10 And I want you   1:11 if you want to, you can use it for virtually anything.   1:15 Anything you're having   1:18 an issue with, or   1:20 you want to be different about, maybe behave differently, maybe think differently? Or maybe it's you don't know the answer to something but you know, how you want the answer to be as in the way you want to address them. I'm not quite sure how or what the problem is. But I know how I want   1:39 to be while maybe like going to a meeting or something like that, you know, the issue is something like? Well,   1:49 it's not necessarily unconfidence, because I'm pretty confident about things. But I just don't feel confident in this particular area, or something like that. Or it could be just an issue, would you like to do that? Would that be of importance to you, of interest, to be able to understand something as the process, so I wanted to go through this process with you and explain it to you. And then if you're up for it, we'll actually go through it. But I want you to get a conscious understanding first what we're doing. Because while I'm doing it, so covert thing here, which I'll bring, well bring it overt now, as we explain it and understand it, you will actually start practicing it, because you can't not start practicing, if that makes sense. But it won't make sense until we do it would but let's think. If you're happy, I want to really assist a conversation between you and I, you've got this issue, you've got this issue.   2:59 And   3:02 this way is a very gentle way of changing things. I know I always like to go back to the cause. But this one sort of doesn't. But it always keeps the intention. Because whatever you do and whatever you're experiencing behind that will be a positive intention. whether things are good, that'd be a positive intention, or whether things aren't so good. There will be an intention behind that. It's just that it's been lost along the way, or the behaviors and the feedback now inappropriate. And things need to change, but you want to keep the intention. And a lot of the intention of your unconscious mind is primarily about your safety. So we don't want to lose that do we really want to be safe, I like to think of safety as being comfortable. Because if I'm comfortable in any situation, I know then I can access the type of state or states that I want to be in, I can access the information. I need to if I'm talking to somebody or I can access the behaviors, which would be most appropriate because I'm comfortable in me as it were. That to me is my safety mode just being comfortable. If you want to know what comfortable, really is, like, go way back, way back to well, effectively. It was the first podcast I ever did. Okay, there's the introduction. But that was my introduction, isn't it? But the very first podcast I ever did was all about being comfortable. And a wonderful way of dealing with anxiety and dealing with panic attacks and things like that. And my way of being comfortable was just being in a lovely Meadow on my birthday. Feeling the sunlight The warmth of the sun hearing the wind, just a breeze because there were all those wonderful weeping willows, and they were just swaying in the wind. And there's a river, the river cam, you could just gently hear it just slapping a little bit. There were cows because there's a meadow. So you could hear cows mooing as they move on just generally feeling. This is so nice. That for me is my cover. Anyway, if you want to do that, it's hashtag two. And there's also hypnosis track 2.1. But anyway, that's beside the point now, because I want you to come with me,   5:52 let's dive   5:54 easily into this. This nice, gentle process comfortable process of change. The very first thing we want to do is obviously bring your issue your problem to mind. Because I want you as if it was a mindmap, that would be the very center, this is the thing that I want to change. Now whether it's like a presentation or whether it's like speaking to somebody, whether it's like, well, you need the context. But before we get the context,   6:32 I just want to know,   6:33 I want you to think you might want to get a book out to write the answers down. Or you can just just think it through. Just think it through as I'm just conversing with you. I want to know, I want to know why is important to you to be able to change this situation, to come away from this issue, to let go of this issue. To fix a problem. Why is it important? Say to yourself, why   7:05 is important to me to 'X' you fill in the blank. And just notice what comes up? So it could be I don't know. So I get   7:17 get on better with my colleagues maybe? Or that one particular person, I don't know, whatever the problem is, but just ask yourself and take a moment because it's not a rushing thing. It's just a conversation so let's think generally. But specifically, generally. Why is this important to me to change? And then say, Well, okay, I get that. But why is that answer important to me? To change? Because if I get that, that would mean this, and then you go well, when you get that answer, why is that answer important to me? Now, why are we doing that? There's another way. And the reason we're doing that is because the second and third, are like removed answers, become more unconscious answers. answers, you're not fully aware at the conscious level. And they can surprise you sometimes. And then you say to yourself, Well, okay. Why else is it important to me to let go of this issue? So why is it important to me to let go of the issue now? What would that mean to me? It's not the change. So let it go. When you get that answer, just pop into your mind as it will do, so you say that is okay, I get that. Okay. So why is and repeat that sentence? Why is that important to me?   9:00 What will that get me? What does it mean to me to be able to have that?   9:07 Even add the words fully and completely if I had that fully and completely? Why is that important to me? And you'll get another answer.   9:14 And then you go, Well, why is that important to me? You get the drift of this now? Yeah. Because again, three times removed. Now, if that was three times, why don't we do it a third time? And is ask yourself, why is this important to me? And maybe another context? Or why is it important to me? as me? me as a person now not in that, that situation but for me as a person? How will it affect me? Why is that important to me when I have that solution? Get the answer. Just allow it to bubble up. This one you have to think about a little bit. But as you think about that immediately ask yourself and why is that important to me? Well, that gets me Well, I get better Feel. And why is that important? Again, three times removed. Now that you see, this is all about your, your motivation, your motivation consciously and unconsciously now, because we now see the real benefit of letting this situation go, or the issue, or changing the situation, or being able to adapt and be better be the way you want to be. But we're not there yet. But unconsciously now, your unconscious mind can notice how much better it would be if you did change. And even as you say, each one of those, as I said, you've got to do the process, because I know that you're probably just, even if it's just a fraction, a flash, you will visualize it, that solution, that Why? Why is it important to each one, you will get a sense of it. And with that sense, you get an internal feeling, the feeling of the wish fulfilled? Now we've got that internal motivation to say, Well, why wouldn't we change, because the issue doesn't feel good. But the change is going to make so much of a difference to us. And it doesn't matter how much of a difference is, is going to make a difference. And that positive difference has got to be better than the old way. So now haven't got the why we've got to think, well hang on a minute. Let's get a little bit more specific. Let's go to the what. But as you think of this issue, I want you to ask inside. What is that positive intention of having this, this problem, this issue? Now we know it's gonna be somewhere around safety. But there'll be a different reason it might be protecting you from I don't know, maybe failure, if there is such a thing as failure. I know a lot of people and I and me included would say, well, there is no failure. There's only feedback. And that's a presupposition of NLP, a useful assumption. Which is all very well and good unless you're in the problem. And you think it's a failure because it feels that way. But and that's the real classic part of the conflict. It's like your unconscious mind is protecting you from failure, or the feeling of failure if you actually did this thing. But by not doing it, you feel a failure? Or if it's gonna save you from embarrassment, protect you from embarrassment, maybe, maybe that's another reason. Yeah. When people ask you to do that thing, and you say, Oh, I can't do it, you actually feel embarrassed? or embarrassed about doing it so automatically. Even though the positive intention is wonderful, because who wants to feel embarrassed who wants to get hurt? It doesn't feel good and actually, I tend to find with my clients is the very thing that your unconscious mind is trying to protect you from is the resulting feeling that you have in the issue. So just ask yourself what, what is this issue about in the way that the intention behind it? What is it stopping me? But what is it protecting me from that's a better way of putting it and then you think Well, actually, now if you just thought for a moment in time that okay maybe this protection type thing is let's go from being embarrassed? Let's just call it embarrassed, stop me feeling from being embarrassed even though I feel embarrassed not doing this thing.   14:11 What would it get me? How would it feel? How would it feel if I was totally comfortable knowing that I couldn't be embarrassed   14:28 or knowing that I couldn't get hurt or knowing that I couldn't feel a failure. If I got that how do you think it might make you feel? You could feel it now couldn't you? Just imagine, imagine, here is a lovely thing to do. Just imagine if you went to sleep tonight. and slept such a wonderful sleep and as you slept and you dreamed, something magical happens. And that magical thing is that this issue disappears. And you wake up in the morning, and you know, it's disappeared. Because the reason you know it's disappeared is because you've got completely the way you want to be. How would that feel inside? How would that feel inside? Just imagine it now, this is just imagination and you've got limitless imagination. So imagine, what would you see inside your head? What pictures would you make when you just knew that it's gonna be okay. What would you hear? What would that internal voice be saying to you? What would that internal belief be?   15:51 When you know you've got it, you can do this. And you can do this and feel comfortable. Maybe you could taste that success, smell that success. And when you put all those things together, what it would feel like? Imagine that feeling coming now. Now, here's the thing. When you feel that feeling, just for a moment now. You're feeling you've still got that positive intention because this is the actual protection now. And you're actually doing that thing that you weren't doing. But you're doing it in a way that you're comfortable, which means you're totally protected. And you can feel it, you can hear what you'd hear, see what you'd see. Just imagine now, spinning that feeling faster in the direction, that makes it even more intensely wonderful. Just imagine doing that? There's nothing to worry about if you spin it the wrong way, you know, it doesn't feel so good. So just reverse it. It's as simple as that. And when you notice the color, make that color brighter, maybe you want to make it a rainbow,  so it has every color And as you do that. And this is the how, by the way. As you do that, let's get really imaginative. and visualize it. Imagine and visualize, a you over there going through that context, that scenario of doing your issue the way you want it to be? So the issue is now a successful conclusion. A successful outcome. See yourself over there. And again, some people will say, Well, I can't visualize Cloughie, well, I know you can. But it doesn't matter. Just be aware that there's you over there doing it. So it's everything from awareness to 20/20 vision in this visualization process. Imagine it's happening right now, over there. If there are other people involved, notice them, how they're interacting with that you over there. And spin that feeling faster, brighter, you might want to make it warmer maybe. And as you do that, notice how that you over there is doing that successful outcome even better. And as you do that, I wonder what it would be like if you were just to go and be inside that you? What would that be like? So you could see what you'd see, hear what you'd hear, smell and taste that success. And actually feel the physiology of your body moving, your voice, the sound of your voice, the way your muscles move. And that real feeling of enjoyment, of the joy of being able to be so successful at this one particular thing, because it's so important to you. And as you do that, I want you to ask this question. And you can shout it out loud in your head. "How can I keep this positive intention and find this better way? The solution? How can I access all these skills? these behaviors, these positive beliefs, these values, these wonderful emotions, all the skills that I know, how can I access them just like this. find a better way to keep this intention. This or something better."  And as you do that, just leave that you over there and come back into your body. So you're fully back in your body. And again, say how can I keep this positive intention, find a better way to get that solution, this or something better. And as you do that, spinning that feeling  faster,   20:25 brighter,   20:27 imagine that old picture that you had of that   20:29 old problem,   20:30 just disappearing. Now getting further and further away, all the way to the horizon, the further it goes away, the smaller gets. And the smaller it gets, the darker it gets. The further it goes, the darker it gets, the smaller it gets until it disappears.   20:50 And then   20:51 we haven't finished. What Cloughie we haven't finished?   20:53 no, Cuz you see. That's all lovely, lovely. All lovely. But guess what? Sometimes life happens, and we get a few obstacles. So we've got a what if? What if something was to happen that we weren't? That wasn't there? Now, how'd you do that? Well, first of all, I want you to remember those five keys to success. What are they? Well, if you're new, I'm going to go over them for you. And a few have been here for some time. You may have listened to them before, but you may need to re-remember them if they're such a word is re-remember. So I'll remember them for you.   21:40 The first one is, know your outcome. Well, we know that now because we know that not the issue. We've actually seen the outcome, how you want to be, That issue has disappeared. So you know your outcome, how you want to be, the solution, the successful solution. And as you do that, knowing that you're going to use all those wonderful beliefs and values, emotions and behaviors. I want you to imagine and ask your unconscious mind to take intuitive action towards that goal towards that successful completion. Because this is a strategy, and as you take that massive intuitive action because you just know it feels right. You can open up your awareness. This is a third, third key, open up your awareness to make sure that you're on track that you're heading towards that, that goal because sometimes we go off track, if you're an airplane, I know you're not but if you were an airplane, the only two times that you are in the right direction is when you take off. And when you land, everything else is a matter of adjustment. Adjusting because of the winds because of things that are happening, adjusting to coming back onto that flight plan. So you arrive in the right place to have the awareness of knowing if something comes up. You can access the skill you need, the experiences, the knowledge that you have. And to be able to adapt to move around it over it, see it for what it is, deal with it. Because you've got that wonderful positive belief, you know where you're going, you've got that massive intuitive action that you're going to keep on doing. But you're aware now, and you're making adjustments as you go along. And as you bring that, that visualization to mind of what how you were in that solution, you will have the psychology and physiology of excellence, the acting as if you act as if you've already got the solution, you have got that physiology, you've got that positive mindset that will direct you towards your goal. That outcome with massive intuitive action, being aware of where you are, where you're going, how far you've come. But also that one bit I missed out between that awareness and that physiology is being flexible. That's the fourth key. The fourth key is being flexible enough to change with that fifth key of physiology. And that mindset.   24:30 Now then   24:31 if you wanted to your unconscious mind, could visualize this out to see yourself. And again, you'll see yourself in in little glimpses now because I want your unconscious mind to go through the scenario of taking that massive intuitive action along the way. But notice that you over there who is going through this process always keeps the big picture in mind what's the big picture the final solution? The goal, the aim where you're headed for over there, they keep that big picture in mind. But as they do that they also have in mind, the small steps, you're taking those intuitive steps, those steps of awareness, that flexibility. And notice how that you over there comes to maybe a little problem, a little thing that comes in the way. Notice has, as they keep that big picture in mind, they can find a way past that obstacle. Because they've got that mindset. They've got that motivation, they bring together the whys. why it's so important for you, and what it means to you. So they can find all the energy all the experience all the learnings. But it's just right for you. All the time, holding the big picture in mind all the time holding those small baby steps as little steps along the way. Spinning that feeling faster or faster. Keeping that positive intention in the forefront of your unconscious mind. And notice as that you over there gets closer to the end. How good they feel because they feel good every step of the way. This is not a journey, this is a wonderful adventure of feeling wonderful. Always knowing you're fully protected, you're comfortable, this or something better. Notice, as this all just disappears inside, I want your unconscious mind to know they can generalize this strategy into other areas of your life. So it can use this wonderful feeling whenever it needs to, it can evolve it, it can find other areas of your life that it could, this could form part of a successful strategy. Because good things generalize into all areas of your life, you never know how far the ripples of change go, you know that. So when you make this change now, then you'll never know but you will know. You won't know now how far the ripples of change will go. But when you experience them in different areas of your life, different contexts, you'll suddenly go Hey,   27:36 Cloughie, he was right. I was different. Now, here's the thing. Now I know you haven't done anything differently. We've just been talking. But I've been talking to the both of each and every one of you.   27:56 That is consciously and unconsciously if you were now. What happens when you think of the old issue? how determined I am to resolve it, solve it, you know how to? Or is it? Does it still exist? Does it even, do you even think about it as being an issue, or  has that feeling completely disappeared right   28:19 now.   28:22 Because the harder you look for it, the further disappears, because of all of the work we've just done. And isn't it amazing? How just in conversation that you can listen to me and think of these things, and resolve this issue now, to be different. And I wonder, here is the last part of it. And this is for your conscious mind if your conscious mind was to think out now. What new opportunities   28:54 might you   28:56 take on May you notice? Because you've resolved this problem right now. Make a note of those. Because if you just go Oh, is this, this and this? Guess what those little wishes can disappear. Write them down, make a note on your phone. I make my notes in Evernote. I do them on my notepad. I do them on my rocket book. I do them in my journals all over the place. In fact, I do them. I've been thinking about this over. I'll probably talk to you about this again. But I'd need to keep a special book for these types of things, these wonderful things. So when I look back over them, I go wow, yes, I've got it again. And I just reinforce that feeling again and again. Because that's all you have to do is reinforce it right now. So, my friend, I hope you like that conversation. Yeah, yeah, I thought you would I thought you would. And I enjoyed thinking about that. I thought about it quite deeply before I did it. I went through those steps to make,   30:11 just to   30:12 think of how can I develop a process for you that you can use whenever you want. And guess what? If you did that process, and it didn't work, you've lost nothing anyway. you're just the same as you were, but you won't be because the old Cloughie sort of guarantees. You cannot not change just by going through that. So if you wanted to go through it again, just rewind, notice where it starts, well let's start at the beginning reason. But also, I'm thinking about putting this into a, like a hypnosis track. That's why I mentioned hypnosis tracks earlier, at the beginning, there was, there was a reason for that. But I'll be probably doing a hypnosis track separate to this. And then you can have it just whenever you need it. it won't very long, it doesn't need to be long does it? Because you're already primed, in some ways, because you've listened to this haven't we. And your unconscious mind has been listening to me more than probably you realize now. How easy it is to change. I hope you enjoyed every bit of that. And I like to think that when you actually start to review, say in a few day's time, how that issue has disappeared.   31:40 I'd love you to let me know how? Well, not necessarily how about how you've changed how you notice a change.   31:47 I'd love you to send me emails, as so many of you do. Just let me know how these things have affected you in wonderful ways. And maybe in ways that you didn't imagine they would it To start off with, like when I say the ripples of change go in so many places. I always remember, I can't remember if I've told you this. But I remember not too long ago, a little while ago, I worked with this young lady. And she had this phobia of loud noises, mainly things like fireworks and things like that. And we were sitting in my little clinic, and I had my little bit of music going. I even had a candle I'm not whoo whoo la la I just like a candle on now again. This sets the scene comfortable. I was thinking and I said it out loud. Where do you hear the noises? so peaceful where we live here? And she said, Paul, haven't you noticed that virtually every party you go to now and I go to a lot of parties because he was really saying I'm a little bit younger than you Paul, right? That was okay. Because my parties don't have fireworks, they probably have alcohol. But that's it. There's too much information again. She said most parties, I go to have fireworks. If you notice you can buy fireworks any day of the week. She said where we live in the summertime because we live by the coast. Every Saturday night. There are fireworks on the clifftops because it's for the holidaymakers. If you go to Disney, places like that, what do they have? Every evening? Bloody fireworks. And I know I'm getting it, there's quite a lot of noise around really, isn't it? There's quite a lot of things like this. He said, I just feel totally out of control. totally out of control. So So okay, when we did the work. And she phoned me up a little while ago, a little while after, and said, well, the big test comes full, because tonight I'm going to that party. And I know there's gonna be fireworks out and I'm feeling a little bit nervous. And I said to her, Well, you will feel nervous because everyone does especially with a phobia because when you have to test your phobia, the only way you can test it is by facing that little fear as it were. And the fear is Did it work? Because as I said, there's always that little bit of concern. So don't worry about that's normal. But just remember when you walk through that concern, you'll notice it's imagined. And she said, Okay, well, I'm gonna go for it Paul Anyway, I'm going for it even with that little bag and said, I'm going to the party, and I'm going to have a good time. I feel I've got I'm excited to go. She said, Well, I got the phone call back the following day. And it was so quick after like because it was the following day, I wondered what the hell had happened. And she said, Hey, Paul, I can't believe it. She said the party was wonderful. Yeah, even my boyfriend was watching and he said I couldn't believe how you could just watch those fireworks having seen you before. She said but that's wonderful. But it's not as good as the change I've noticed in the week before. though, since we've been working and I said, What do you mean? Because we worked on phobias, you know,   35:07 out of control.   35:09 I said, Yeah, I   35:10 remember you saying you were out of control. And I did mention one or two other areas of your life where the ripples of change would go into what I can't believe is at work now, where I used to be a little bit nervous talking to people, I am so much in control of myself. And because I'm in control of myself, I feel so comfortable, because we talked about feeling comfortable. And I've taken that comfort. And I'm just comfortable in those situations at work where I never used to be, I feel so in control. And because of that, I can communicate properly. I don't say things that I go go away. And or I used to go away and say, wish I'd said that. She's I say things. And people go, wow. And they appreciate my communication. They appreciate my connection, my contribution. And because of that, I'm feeling more confident. And because of that, people get more comfortable around him because of that, and it just goes on Paul. And that's what happens, phobias and things like that are not really the issue. They are just the effect that you notice. They're their significant emotional events that you, you really notice. But the ripples of change go so far and wide. And that's what happened here, I think. So I'd love to know how far and wide your ripples of change go right now. So if you want to read it. And sometimes people like reading the spoken word as it were because it comes in a different format, isn't it. And we learn differently because we will perceive things differently. And also, the other thing about that way is that once you've got it once and you've listened to it, you tend to get it. So when you read it again, or you listen to these podcasts again, you'll get more out of them because you've got a foundation of knowledge. So, therefore, you can listen to this newly and pick up new stuff. So I do advise, you know, I'd always suggest rather than have a listen to the episodes that maybe you found it a little bit confusing, or you didn't quite get or it wasn't quite for you and have a listen to again, also listen to the ones that really did get you did get things from and notice what extra you get from them. I know I do this with myself, sometimes I'm struggling to read something or I'm listening to something this time or just not getting there. My Deep Thinking Is Not Working Do you find it difficult to think, think really deeply? to deep dive as they say. I've been getting despondent not finding this clarity and was I finding excuses to put it off not overt excuses but as if I'm pretending to deep think and then wondering why it isn't working. I feel I was fidging the process and Ah-Ha that's why I get fudged results. Does that resonate? Getting The Most From Your Day Leaving Nothing to Chance If you're like me, you meet your commitments in your diary - meetings, phone calls, and you fill in the blanks for yourself. But it's the time in between, those projects that have an end date and those things you want to do but when you do them and by when is entirely up to you and if you're like me time disappears and those things don't get done. Now a long time ago, I used a process that originated with Tony Robbins but it missed out something for me, It was so close but close is not good enough. Learning From An Artist Change from a different perspective A little while ago I saw something that really got my attention. And as I watched my mind was drawn to thinking how can I use this? I had also been reading that many great developers, creatives, and some would say geniuses would look at other topics away from their field of interest and discover the most amazing solutions to their problems that they had been pondering without success. I'm guessing something inside put the two together. You see this all came together on the day I was to give a live webinar for my son's Mind Mastery group. So I thought what a brilliant subject to explore together and I've been able to extract that part of the webinar to share with you. I found the whole experience of firstly having that Ah-Ha moment, then the mind mapping of something quite different, and then verbalize it really refreshing. As I say you really get to understand things deeper when you share what you learn especially out loud and I did! I'll also be putting together a Hypnosis track around the process and when that's available I'll include it in my newsletter. Pain Then Pleasure Enjoy the pleasure Warning - this is a New Years Resolution FRREEE ZONE! We know we can make changes any day, any minute of a year and this is the place to come to do just that. In this episode, I'll take you through at least a couple of processes that facilitate making changes at both the conscious and unconscious levels with ease. Sometimes we have to realize what and how not making changes can mean to us now and in the future - the pain - which enhances the motivation for the pleasure of creating a now and the future we desire. I have gone into this subject quite deep because I believe it's important to understand that making our life the one you want is not a pipe dream, not whoo whoo La La, not clickbait for some made-up false guru but totally possible. All you need is the will to do whatever it takes and the limit of your imagination, which we know is limitless.  (that was a little inside my mind rant too!) It's not difficult but it does take effort and commitment. Knowing this stuff without action is BS. The rewards, however, are immense. The transcript of episode #214 Pain then pleasure 0:00 Hi, my friend, welcome back to the PDU. And what are we going to talk about in this podcast? Well, if you know me, well, you do. But if you knew me, well, you will know I will not talk about New Year's resolutions, because I think they're absolutely rubbish. Because if all you're going to do is a new year's resolution in New Year's, and then let it go after the first week, well, you've just wasted time. And I think you can change any day of the week, you can set a goal any day of the week of the year of the month, you do not need this new year's resolution. In fact, I think yours should be more of a review of the year, see where you've been, not where you want to go to see where you've been and then you can reassess how your goals are going and what you're going to do. But this is not anything to do with new year's resolutions. But it's a brilliant thing to do to set yourself up. So have you ever heard of this? Great saying that I heard a little while ago, don't let life live up to your negative expectations? You see what I heard that I thought, well, I had to play it again. Don't let life live up to your negative expectations. And that got me thinking. 1:16 You see, there's that other saying I've been telling you about. Whatever you think about your get, whether you like it or not, and I thought they are linked a bit aren't they, they are linked In away. So don't let life live up to your negative - So I'll say that again, Paul, don't let life live up to your negative expectations. And then just add whatever you think about you'll get, whether you like it or not. 1:40 And also have you heard this being said by somebody, not necessarily you there's not one of those things where, you know, look inside, but someone might say to you, I have a friend like this, who said, if it's gonna happen to me, or if it's gonna happen to anyone, it's gonna happen to me. I'm so unlucky. I never win anything. Well, they didn't win anything. And they had so many dramas in their life, they would go on holiday, the flight would be wrong, the hotel would be wrong, they've slipped over on the floor, the food would be they'd get ill. And everything in their life was a drama because if it was going to happen, it was going to happen to them. A self-fulfilling prophecy, prophecy, get it right, Cloughie. 2:24 And I kept thinking about this. Is this a little bit like whatever you think about, you're gonna get whether you like it or not? because they're thinking about things that have gone wrong, things that may go wrong, and actually telling people out loud, not just to themselves, they're telling people what is gonna happen to them. And low and behold, it does, and they simply wallow in it. But it does happen. And it does. They do have a lot of stories, don't they? And in fact, then life is, I guess, living up to their negative expectations because they expect this thing to happen. And it's not positive, is it?. So I do think though, we do all have a little bit of this in us. Can we? I wonder why that is? 3:10 Well, I did wonder, I'd like you to wander along with me. Let's have a little mews. You see, we've all got this reptilian brain this one on that, that very first one, that very low brain. And it's there for protection. We're told about it everywhere you go, this reptilian brain is there, saves you from Saber Tooth tigers, the attack of a dinosaur, all that stuff. And we still got it. Okay, we haven't got the dinosaurs, but we've got other things going on. So, therefore, it's there to protect you or keep you safe. But does it? Well, sometimes. But at other times it can lead to overwhelm can't it? In the way that you get these endless loops. Because, yeah, you haven't done anything. So it keeps it going, over and over and over again. There we are, we're thinking about this negative thing going, that might happen, that could happen. And we go into this overwhelm. We also even extend it out with this wonderful power of imagination we've got, we think of the very worst that could happen. But it probably wouldn't. But just in case. And then we don't end up doing anything or, life lives up to our negative expectations. And it does happen, of a sort, not maybe as bad as we thought. But it wasn't as positive as it could have been. Or whatever we were thinking about comes along whether we like it or not. 4:37 See the other thing that happens too, which is somewhat linked, is our negative experiences and never negative experiences are there again to protect us. Or they should be by remembering them we should learn from them. And if we've learned from them, 4:54 then we don't need the negative experience to stay up in the forefront of our mind. We don't need that negative emotion. The fear, the stress, the anxiety from it. But sometimes we just haven't learned because we're still staying with that emotion. And if you think about this, how easy is it to find a negative situation from your past? It's easy, isn't it? I ask anybody and say, Can you think of something that was negative in your life? Something that was fearful or something was frightening? Something was sad. Something was there any negative emotion think of and click, click, 5:29 click, they'll come up with them, just like that. But then you go, can you think of a really good time? 5:35 Oh, that's a difficult one. I have to think about that. And it takes time, yes, you can find them. And when you do find them, you might find more. But these negative experiences are at the forefront. Oh, easy access to us. In that way it just seems to, I don't know, it just keeps things going. And that's, I've got a brilliant way, or heard about a brilliant way, I didn't make it up. But hey, we're going to go there in a minute, of letting this stuff go, and actually start to think of the things that we want in our life. Now, if you said to me, hey, Cloughie, this is all pretty, pretty painful stuff you're telling me? And the more painful question is, what would your life be like if you let it continue in this way? That's right, it is painful. And that more painful question I've just asked and I had to ask myself this, and I didn't like it very much. What would happen to your life? And what would life be like, if you let it continue with these negative things happening? Hmm. Well, you see, yes, I know, my initial thoughts on this was, well it's not all the time. It's not all negative. But the thing is, that doesn't balance. If you imagine a seesaw, a seesaw, going back to our childhood, lovely seesaw, and at one end, was a positive thing in our lives. And on the other end, there are all the negative things that happened in our life. And I can tell you what, if you put equal ones on the negative would win. Because they do so it just seems that a negative emotion is more charged than a positive. And the thing is, even if they're one level, I know they're not. But even if they were level, one cancels out the other, and your life was full of negatives and positives, and they'd be imbalance it would mean you live in a neutral life. Neutral, do you want to live a life in neutral? Think about it like a car, put into neutral? What happens? Exactly, nothing, nothing happens at all. You don't go forward, you don't go backward? Well, you just stay. But life passes you by. And I want to just for a moment, a little bit more pain, just a little bit more pain. This is so masochistic, isn't it? What I want you to do is just imagine a life of neutral. What would be the type of things it sees in your life? When there are no real highs? Okay, there's no real lows, but it's just neutral. What things would you hear? What would be the world telling you? What would you maybe smell in this neutral world of neutrality? Maybe what it tastes like. But even when you put that all together, trying to get hold of a feeling was pretty bad. I don't get any feelings either way, when I did this, because I had to do this before while I was making my notes. And I'm thinking, this thing of neutrality, what seemed to be quite a good idea is actually, I'm not quite sure whether I'd rather have the negatives and the positives and plan all around. And now, here's the thing. What I said to myself in my notes, WTF, I'm not gonna say, but I thought, oh, WTF, Cloughie, where are you taking me? And that's what I thought about you. Where am I taking you now? And that's what you're probably saying, Cloughie where are you taking me? Well, stay with me just for a moment? Because it's gonna get really better? You see, this way of using your reptilian brain or using your negative experiences and not quite learning from them? And keeping them is a good idea. But and here's the but, how positive is it? If we can let it go? Imagine this, this is a better question. Imagine this, if all those negatives were to disappear from your life because you've learned from them. So you'd have all those learnings unconsciously stored. So they're always available to you. And you could use all that positive energy with all those learnings. What would you be able to do? That's right, absolutely blooming anything and even if you couldn't do the thing you really want to do, you would have a positive belief that you could learn how to do that. You'd find someone to help you because you would believe that they're out there, you'd see but I can do that. I just need to practice more. So we can change it. Because we can, this is where we're going to say this is a positive bit, you had the pain, here comes a pleasure. 10:07 So you see, this is not a difficult thing to do. It's not difficult. But there's a little but here. It takes effort, it takes energy. It is not a free lunch. Nothing well you know and I do, there's, there is no such thing as a free lunch. You know, you have to turn up, you have to be there, you know, Something's coming. This takes energy, it takes the will to do whatever it takes. But we've all got that in abundance, especially when you start to focus on where you're going what you want. And you get that motivation. And you get the why. And this is the thing that when we start to just move in this direction, we start doing what I'm going to suggest you do, you tip the switch. So it's not difficult. It's not difficult to just change the switch. But you do have to press it with your finger, don't you? You can't just keep looking at it say, Well, I do that sometimes. It'll be alright. It'll come on in a minute. You know, I'll do it. When I'm ready. No you press the switch, and boom, the light comes on. The aha moment happens, the energy turns on, energy, bringing light to the world to you, oh, that was a bit heavy. So I want you to switch and switch in a way that you can use all those learnings. So let's get out of the old way. That out of that. Not learning from the negatives not using what we've got using all those skills, we're going to be safe. And we're going to use that one skill that never ever, ever, ever, ever. How many evers can you get in there ever goes away? You were born with it? In fact, the younger you were, the more you had it. And all you got to do is tap into again. 11:50 that's what you're saying, Here's what it is? imagination. So what I want you to do just for a moment. Okay, we had that little bit of pleasure, we're going to go into deeper pleasure. I want you to just sign up for a moment. What Yes, stand up for a moment, give a shake, give a little Haha, laugh, move around a little bit just to shake off all that old, negative stuff I've been talking about. I t went in, but I don't want you to keep it in your body. I don't want to hold on to that, that emotion. Because you know, when you think about that stuff, we don't want to think about it. Now, this is a different way. I want you to turn this switch into now I'm ready to listen. I'm curious. That's right, set your state set your intention. I'm curious what's going to happen? I wonder, would it be like, if I do what I hear how much will it affect the goals and the dreams that I have? You see, I want you to imagine, imagine something for me. So again, as usual, if you're working the heavy material, every machinery not material. So if you're working with heavy machinery, please don't if you're driving, don't do this either. You just need a little bit of time. It's not too long. But you need a little bit of time where you'll be undisturbed. Because you can close your eyes, you don't have to. But it works so much better when you close your eyes because you haven't got that distraction of things happening in front of you. And I want you to just for a moment. 13:15 So if you're not going to do this right now, just have a look at what the time is on this podcast, just have a look. Now, make a little mental note. Oh, it's so many minutes and remember to come back to it. And then just fast forward a little bit or whatever you'll be okay. 13:31 So anyway, if you're with me now, take a deep breath. Breathe out. And just close your eyes for a moment. We're not going into hypnosis, this is imagination. And I want you to imagine just for a moment, over there in front of you, maybe just a little bit below you. There's that you, another you just out there in front of you. See yourself over there. That's right. But this time, I want you to imagine that you out there is in the future. This is that future you and that future you have created and achieved your goals. they've achieved your goals at work, or, and or and in all your relationships, in all your social life. Maybe your hobbies, the things you've learned things you wanted to learn anything basically that you have a goal or dream of that you over there has achieved it. Look at them now. How do they look to you over there? How are they walking? Look at their body language, their physiology. I'm going to guess because when I do this, I just see me walking around there with ease with a comfortable swagger as it were. And sometimes I'm just dressed in this really relaxing looking clothing because I'm just, I'm flexible out there on toned. I'm feeling good about myself, I can see from my body language, I'm feeling good about myself, there's a smile as a knowing smile, I'm okay. And in fact, I'm enjoying the fruits of everything I've done up to now over there, my works good, my relationships are good, my social life's good. I'm learning things I'm enjoying things I've got, I'm doing, and have had wonderful experiences. 15:33 Now, 15:34 you don't have to see all of those things, you see yourself over there. Because you don't quite know all the goals and dreams that you have there as, as achieved, because they'll be the ones you've got now in your head, and more. And don't worry, if you don't see yourself over there and 20/20 vision, just become aware, you're over there. And you can imagine what you look like, what you walk like, and when you do that, I just want you to imagine for a moment, floating out of yourself. And into that you, into that you over there, that you from the future, that you that is achieved all of your dreams, your goals, bigger, better than you could ever expect, quicker than you could ever expect. 16:20 And as you float into your body, just look through your eyes, your eyes from the you from the future, what do you see? How do you see the world? how colorful is, how bright it is. Just notice your peripheral vision. even notice those pictures in your mind of the new dreams you have. Or maybe just you just know, there are new goals, new dreams, which you have this belief that you know you're going to achieve. 16:50 Hear, hear how you speak hear, what you're listening to having achieved all these goals, how you're setting up the new achievements, the new successes, and enjoying the steps along the way. And when you see what you'll see, hear that inner voice, the one that says, I;m okay, this is great. What else can I do? What can I learn? How can I use this? How can I make a difference in the world? And when you see what you'll see and hear what you'll hear, feel this, feel this success from the future. That's it. Just feel and feel it. And remember this feeling, because that's all you have to do, remember it. 17:32 Now, come back into your body. But just remember that feeling. just remember that feeling. You could even squeeze your finger and thumb together, just so you can remember it by anchoring it hold of that feeling and come back into you. And notice what it feels like now. 17:50 Open your eyes. Maybe you want to stand up, shake it off, run around. It's a good feeling, though, isn't it? And you see, the reason we come back out of it is that your unconscious mind now knows the direction you're heading, where you want to go, what is going to feel like this is what I want. This is the why, the Why is this great, wonderful feeling of achieving success. Now then, first, take this a little further. And I really think you ought to, you might want to sit down and think about your individual goals because this was very general wasn't it? 18:22 Now, I think 18:24 in specificity, don't we love that word specificity. Think of different sections, areas of your life. And think of the goals you have in each. Now if you wanted to, you could just do what we did again, and just adapt it. But what I'll do very quickly, we'll just do one of them. 18:42 So you know you've got a goal. Yeah? Just pick one goal, one goal that you're hoping for and dreaming of that you just want in the future. Yeah, you got it just the one doesn't matter which context or which area of your life because this gives you the idea. And just like we did before, just be curious, get in that curious state and imagine setting your intention, what can I learn from this. 19:07 And now take a nice deep breath, let it go, and close your eyes. And then see that you over there that's that you over in the future again. And that you over there has achieved that goal. And in fact, I want you to see that you over there. Going through the steps to achieve that goal. Just imagine and I know you're gonna see that you over there. You can see them, they're holding that big picture, the big picture of the goal in itself, but also holding on to that big picture. They're noticing them having pictures of the smaller baby steps. The steps are going to lead you to that wonderful big picture. You may also imagine that you from the future as it goes through those steps may encounter a problem or two, because things happen. But just notice how they've got that belief, that will do whatever it takes to go around it over it under. Because they can know they've got the big picture in mind, they know they've got the will to do whatever it takes. And they've got the belief that it's okay, they're okay, they're going to do it. And they notice they can get over issues, they can get over obstructions around obstructions, and then see them having achieved that goal. And if you want to, now you can float into them, having achieved that goal, to feel what it feels like to have the success of that goal. See what you'll see. The internal pictures, the outs, the pictures from the outside, the internal voice the sounds outside, make them so big, bright, colorful, clear, crystal clear. And feel that feeling. And then when you feel that feeling, just maybe, tell your unconscious mind that this is it. This is really it, this or something better, because that's the thing, this or something better. And then come back into you always come back into you. Open your eyes. 21:11 Look at me, everything seems brighter sometimes isn't that when we do this? Awesome. Quick, get up, shake around, do what you want. Take a big breath, shout out loud. Hey, Cloughie, that was brilliant. That'll be a good thing to share. People will just wonder what you're talking about. 21:25 We see you now telling you, your conscious mind and your unconscious mind. This is how I want to feel this or something better. And you see that gives your unconscious mind the direction to go. Yeah, because you see, sometimes your goal might change. Have you ever had that experience where you know what you're going for, this is a goal I want and something has come along even better. And because you haven't got fixed on the goal, you've been able to change paths slightly and get an even better result. And that's what this is about. You're telling your unconscious mind, exactly the feelings that you want. This or something better. So as things happen, and you move towards that one goal, in this particular area of your life, your unconscious mind is looking further using all your peripheral vision, noticing all the opportunities that will just be able to move in that right direction to give to get you to learn the right things. 22:18 Now, here's the thing, you can do even more. Even more, you say Cloughie is there more, you say? I want you to do something in a little bit the way I want to, I want you to do it. And it's so simple. Again, simple. In simplicity, there is genius. And that's what we do here. But it takes the will to do whatever it takes, you have to do it. Because if you're just going to go that's a good idea. 22:44 That's a great idea. And I'm sure it works. Well, you won't find out if it works at all. You see, 22:49 I need you to get I don't need you, I don't need you to do anything, I want you to want to, I want you to want to get that Oh, wonderful Journal of yours. Mine's Jenny journal. In fact, I've got lots of Jenny's. And I want you to open up the page, a blank page, or maybe it's a double-sized page. And I want you to know before you even start this, you can add to it at any time, you can change it to any, you can change it anytime. You can evolve things. In fact, I want you to do that. Because as we keep imagining in these different contexts, and these goals and seeing that future and going in and out, having those wonderful feelings, saying this or something better, your unconscious mind will see those new opportunities to make things even better. And I want you to have the opportunity. So wow, now we're moving to a better goal. Now I want you to put it into this journal. Now, what am I talking about? You see, I want you to maybe set aside 20 minutes initially, that 20 minutes, everyone's got 20 minutes haven't they? You could say five, but five wouldn't do it justice. I could say 10. But hey, 20 minutes, 20 minutes just in the evening when it's quiet. Just forget the telly. Forget everything. Do you say Telly in America? Was it TV? Anyway, whatever, whatever it is, put 20 minutes aside, you might want a bit longer later. But initially, let's do our baby step or baby steps. This is a baby step. I want you in 20 minutes without any criticism without any thoughts about how's or ifs, or maybe's and all this sounds impossible. And don't care. I want you to write down all the things you want. What you want to have, what you want to experience what you want to do, what you want to learn, and dreams and goals from every context of your life. If you want to you can put them into sections so a bit like that wheel of life, you know where we draw a circle and then we put it into little segments or parts Some people call it a pie to talk about that another day. But, or each one is a section of your life or an area of your life. It could be spirituality could be your health, could be relationships, could be your career, could be your social life, whatever it is. And each one of those, you could start to write a goal into each part of it. So just split the page up into those sections. Or, if you want to random, just let them fill the page up. And that's it, you for 20 minutes, just write it up. And when you finished, you might want to need a nap not needing up to say that, again, not neatening it up 25:40 for 25:42 aesthetics. But to make it easy to read again, why would you want to read again Paul?, Because I'm gonna tell you because we're going to start to refresh our conscious and unconscious mind of where we're going. Because every time you look at each one of those little feelings is going to start to come into your unconscious mind has a direction want to go. And if you want to, you can use this, again, as the basis of that imagination step we were talking about. So you can go back into the imagination steps, each one, 26:09 I may well do a little hypnosis for this. So you can actually, once you've got them on a page, you can then do a little bit of this, just to get those feelings even more ramped up. But anyway, you've written everything out on the page. And it's huge if you like a journal that I've got, which is a4 that when you open up, it is a three that's a mega-size. And that to me would be too big to carry around. Because I want you to do something with it. So what I would do is get a card, a card that you can carry around maybe in your pocket, your wallet, your purse, your hat, put it under your hat, if you were anything like that, and I want you just to write those down, then that'd be an order. But it could be intersections doesn't matter, whichever you choose, which is it's all about choice isn't what you do, you write them neatly, I'll only say neatly because I want you to read them again. And in fact, what I think I'd like you to do, I thought about this and it came to me is I want once you've done one card, maybe write out a few of them, maybe three, four, or five, because you could leave them in places, places where you automatically would just catch them in your, in your vision. So a great one is to put one on the jamb of your door, the door that you go to your office may be or the door, you go to the toilet, that's a great one, there's always going to go the toilet. And as you walk past, you'll just catch it, catch sight of it. And something will happen. Because it's like creating the right type of noise around you. We talked about all that noise getting so confusing and, and overwhelming us. But this is creating a proper noise, a noise of success. So you might want to put one on your computer, you don't have to look at it all the time. But it'd be there in your peripheral vision, your unconscious peripheral vision as well, you might want to put it on your desk, you might want to put it in your car just on the dashboard. I don't expect you to read it while you're driving, because that would be a silly thing to do. But it's just there. Maybe you put it in a place where you're always basically putting in places where you're always going to be some time that you can walk past because as I say, this is really getting your unconscious mind to see it in everywhere you go. Put it on the fridge, a great place we have a sneak or put it on your beer bottle. 28:25 And the thing is, now I want you to make a commitment. And he can say to me Cloughie, I thought that was the commitment. I've imagined this, I've imagined that I've got the journal out. I've now written all on a card and cards and stuck them everywhere. How much more commitment Can you want from me? Well more, because again, it's not difficult. Just a little bit more effort. 28:48 I want you to make a commitment to very quickly read these cards or this card on an hourly basis every hour. And you can say what?! Cloughie every hour? Yeah, I am perfectly, perfectly sound in what I just said because it's gonna take you less than a minute to read them. I didn't say I want you to think about everyone imagine it going out there. I just want you to read them every hour and everyone can do that for less than a minute. All you have to do is go quietly read it, read it, read the data, boom. Put it away. This is a great thing I love from somebody else and this is all you have to do. But not all you have to because you can do homework as well because but this is just going to get your unconscious mind to start noticing all the opportunities for you. It's going to keep that Why charged it's going to keep your motivation charged, keep your excitement charged, your curiosity charged, because if you do this every hour, boom, but not an instant aha boom is going to be a very slowly but quickly and surely way of getting things to change for you and it will So, what you have is no good saying, well, I did it for a day Paul, nothing happened, and probably will have but you didn't notice it. This is a creeping giant. And it's like that curve that grows exponentially. If I said that, right, it starts off slowly, and then builds up faster and faster and better and better and faster, faster. And you just don't know on the, on the ride that you're on. Because you're enjoying the experience, you're enjoying the adventure, because that's what is now a bloody journey. 30:28 It's an adventure, and you're creating this adventure, we talked about cause and effect, we're going to talk about even more now, or not now, but later, because you're the cause side of events, you're the cause side of every effect that happens, because you're creating these things. And was it difficult to do? We haven't done it yet. But when you do it, if you imagine doing it? Is it gonna take a lot of time? now Is it gonna take a lot of energy? No, it's not gonna take anything other than during the imaginations doing your writing out the journal, and then writing on a card, but the cards everywhere, and then just reading it 31:01 every day, 31:02 we're going to dive into this even deeper when things maybe aren't quite going as fast as you want. Because it might be a reason for that. But at the moment, don't think about anything other than the things that you want, and the things that are going to happen for you how they're going to feel. And if you want to go back to the imagination steps again, just to get that feeling even stronger. And then if you get that inspiration, that intuition, add it to your mind, I call it a mind map. That's what how I would add it to your journal and add it to that new piece of paper, or that little card every time you might want to write out that card again, every now and again. But remember, maybe at the end of the week, you might just go and have a look through your journal where you wrote things down ago. Do you know what I've had an intuition, I had a thought I could expand that even more, I really want. I thought I wanted this promoter. Now I've, I've learned a little bit. This is what I really want. If you by any chance as you're walking along, or when you wake up or whatever it is, and you have that little aha moment, have a have an idea. Write it down somewhere, record it on your phone, write it in your notepad on your phone, use Evernote, use whatever, I use Evernote for mine, as you know, but use something that you can just record it on. And then in the evening, just spend five minutes updating your journal, updating that card, updating the cards that have stuck around. I think, well, in fact I know if you actually do this, you will find things will begin to happen. Good things, by the way, good things will really happen to you. And you're going to be amazed, you're going to look back maybe in a couple of months if you've done it for a couple of months, and it's to two minutes a day Paul, Oh dear that's nearly an hour or so over two months. Not a big deal. You know you waste that time talking going on, you're gonna get that time easy. But you'll be amazed when you look back and review how things have happened, how things have developed, how wonderful new ideas are coming along how your projects are going even better, how your work is getting better how your feelings are different, how your confidence is growing, how your self-esteem is getting better, how your circle of friends is getting richer, deeper, the people you didn't really mix with that disappeared now because you're, you're just oozing with this wonderful feeling. Anyway, I think that to me, it was one like that a little bit of pleasure thinking it for myself, you say, when you do this, and you do spend this two minutes a day, or one minute, a day, every hour. And you say, well, in fact, what you're being is, you're being the uncommon person, within a group of uncommon people, you are going to be really the, we talk about all the 1% or being in the top 10%. And people just aren't doing this. And you can, you can do this. And you're going to be amazed, really amazed. If you do this for a month or so then it's gonna become a habit. And this habit is going to grow into different areas of your life as well to get even better and stronger. Coor! exciting isn't it. In other words of Nike - go do it. And that's what I'd like you to do. If you've got the moment when you turn off this, this podcast, just after you've shared it and showing it to other people until about a minute. When you've shared it, you then sit down. And you imagine if you rewind, you come back, you've got your journal out, you even if you can't do your journal, you can't do this, you actually schedule in this evening, or this morning, or this lunchtime, or tomorrow morning at the very, very latest 20 minutes, half an hour to do all of this. It'll take you 10 minutes to do the visualization. And it'll take you and even a couple of sections in there as well. That's all it's gonna take. And then 20 minutes to roll this out. Get your cards got to go buy the cards if you got to do it now gone buy the cards and not be so this is not big, but it's very, very clever. 34:56 Um, so that one little thing got me thinking and I just put it all together. 35:02 It just seems to make so much sense to me. I know this has been quite a long podcast, but I think it was worth it. And we're gonna do this. We're gonna explore this deeper in other podcasts, and I'm sure because it's gonna get my brain thinking. So whilst I do it for my little ego a little bit, but also my thoughts on how I can develop it even further to that integrated field of learning. And I can do more with you. And it does something for you too. It reinforces all of this, as it does in every other podcast where I asked you to do this, but it really does reinforce it when you send me those emails. 36:28 Anyway. I also might, if you feel it would be a good idea. And you have to let me know. I could always put that imagination on, not necessarily a hypnosis track but, a track to guide you through that imagination. It'll be a little bit hypnotic because I can't help it. But it'd be great. Celebrating 21 Years and encouragement to new Hypnotherapists I can't believe it's just over 21 years ago I stepped into my first Hypnosis training, I can still remember my anxiety I felt with my first paying client and that magical feeling of being part of making the wonderful changes my clients have made. Negative BiAS Buzzword or BS Before you, well someone might, shout out that Negative bias is a real thing - I know but don't you think there's way too many using this as an excuse or a thing we have to put right because it makes them So So right and it's the popular 'Click Bait' thing to call out. And no I'm not going to talk about that part of the BS I'm going to explore what it really is and what it really does for us, yes the positive in a negative! And then........ With that understanding look to see and hear here what to do when that positive negative is a negative negative. Doesn't that sentence make you just want to dance with joy - Or maybe it's just me and t my unplugged mind  :O) Go on come with me and find out the 'HOW' we can change this negative bias when it gets in our way ad is totally inappropriate. That's the bit everyone fails to tell you because when that happens they would have nothing to say and I'll always have something or some 'HOW' to share. Because that's what we do hear/here. Breaking down the made complicated and find ways to change or incorporate great strategies with Hypnosis and NLP and loads of 'STUFF' (technical change work jargon) Yay to me, to you and to US! Old Advice or Good Advice It seems to me that some people will only take new advice, maybe only when scientifically offered as confirming what we already know because the other advice is out of date. Well, take the teachings of the Stoics, Lao Tzu, Marcus Aurelius, Huna and so much more just going to prove there is very little new new. The real skill is how to use and adapt those teachings in this time, in your life, and in your style. Take it and develop it. And then make sure you share it.
