Bryan Cogman hits a homerun with his final offering to HBO's Game of Thrones, but the beautifully written 2nd episode is upended by the lazy, lackluster, poorly thought-out, full-of-plot-armor culmination of what turned out to be a decade-long side story written by the boys! Queen in The North... probably (304)

Sansa Stark: OH BOY! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO KINGS LANDING AND SPEND TIME WITH PRINCE JOFFREY. HE IS DREAMY. I AM GOING TO BE QUEEN OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS! LIFE IS GREAT!! Sansa Stark: (Falls head over heels for metaphorical inbred monster) (Forsakes her own sister, collaterally causing the death of an innocent animal, so that foremention inbred Crown Prince might still like her) (Rewards the loyal service of elderly woman who has committed her life to making sure Sansa Stark grows up to become a proper noble lady with cruelty and malice) (Refuse to look directly into the venomous, lethal, gaping metaphorical mouth of the Royal Family and instead views them as good people) (Does the opposite of everything she was taught growing up by refusing to use reason or honor in response to her Lord Father, the most reasonable and honorable man in the Kingdom, and the decisions he made in strict concern for her safety) (Believes her charm can turnaround a political and royal coup, including political play, murder, and the manipulation of her family and herself) (After the arrest of her Lord Father and the murder of essentially everyone that cared about her, is more concerned about her standing with the people responsible for them) (Not concerned about her missing and believed dead sister) A FEW YEARS LATER... Jon Snow: WE HAVE TO SAVE RICKON! WE CAN'T LEAVE HIM TO DIE. WE HAVE TO AT LEAST TRY... Sansa Stark: JON, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TELL YOU THIS SO I'M JUST GOING TO SAY IT- YOU'RE BEING AN IDIOT. LOOK, I SURVIVED AT KINGS LANDING. DID YOU? NO. I DIDN'T THINK YOU DID. I DID. YOU WERE UP NORTH PLAYING IN THE SNOW AND KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR... ZOMBIES...? I THINK YOU EXPLAINED THEM AS ZOMBIES... REGARDLESS, I WAS BUSY SURVIVING AT KINGS LANDING WHILE YOU MADE SNOW CASTLES. I THINK I AM MUCH MORE CAPABLE OF MAKING THE DECISIONS THAT ARE BEST FOR THE FAMILY... Bran the Broken (303)

BRAN: I am here! I received your messages and I sought you out, though it was at great cost. The old gods have helped me to find you. Will you help me to walk again? THREE-EYED RAVEN: You will never walk again but you will fly... though not literally, I'm afraid. What I'm saying is that from a certain point of view, what you may soon be capable of doing, and I speak to you thus, mind you, of the assumption that not only are you gifted as your friend... well, your deceased friend, as it were... and obviously, spoilers for the last 20 minutes of your life... where was I...? Oh... yes, I'm speaking with you... to you... as one man to another man, in spite of any... physical characteristics about ourselves that might make some think that we are not men but odd cave wizards... or mayhaps we question our own manhood as we dwell here in our cave... my cave, is what was meant, though I'm implying that you will make this... cold... and barren... rather depressing cave your home as well. I realize, young Brandon Stark... er... of Winterfell... that it might be misconstrued, these words I am speaking, or have spoken, or spake... one does have difficulty with proper tenses when one has an ability to view events in a non-canonical format... along with a solemn duty to keep on viewing events and send messages to young boys... er, men... such as tho... and I do believe that the saying is... eh... what was it now... ah! Yes! Putting the cart before the horse- an analogy truly fitting of this conversation in which we are both a part of... though it is not lost upon me... and rarely is anything lost upon me as I am blessed, or mayhaps cursed, with sight that men- be they men that do not live in caves and amongst the dirty, somewhat moldy roots of an ancient weirwood tree or men whose fate it is to walk freely under the bright sun, feel the soft grass beneath their feet, hear the laughter of children without feeling... empty?... on the inside... tho just a bit and only when their matters within the cave are... just... becoming a bit too much... or be they men whom possess the fortune, be it good or ill, of placing their hand upon the warm, soft bosom of the gentler sex... and I speak to ye, Brandon Stark, of women. I know much and more... some may believe I know all... so if tho know not of which I speak... or have spake... regarding... women... then rest easy that I will be happy to share with you the reasons that you feel the way you feel, a feeling I presume you are indeed... well, feeling, that may be strange and foreign to you, as it were, or as it was... as it is... very well might be... Indeed, young Brandon, a feeling twixt a glowing ember of fire within thine groin and a yearning for something that tho hath not been able to put thine fingers upon... to these feelings I can teach you much and more... if tho wish it to be. As we live together, here in our cave, my young lordling, you may be confident that there exists no question you might have about women or their soft and supple bodies that I will not be able to answer... and you may find that... Chip... and Chip would be... well... I don't see him at the moment but these... Children... of the Forest... these clever and... magical creatures are always coming and going and hiding and throwing things towards me... eh... oh yes- Chip, who hath the largest and the most foolish look to his stupid face... believe you me, bestest friend, you will recognize Chip as soon as tho hath laid thine eyes upon him. Chip is an old gods-damned liar and it is of the utmost importance that tho keepeth this in mind when Chip visits and begins to speak of matters that he knoweth naught about... and I must needs warn you that mine own great knowledge of women and ladies and what they look like naked will be the first truth that Chip will lie to you about. He will say that I know nothing of women or their... boobs... and what have ye... and I knowst true that Chip will deliver this lie to thine lordly ears for this hath happened before and I hath seen it happen again... and also I hath seen it happen before, long before before hath already happened... so do not believe anything that Chip says... Ahh... but of course you won't, young Brandon. Believeth not the fables of one such as Chip is a motto tho hath already lived by for the entirety of thine life... Yes... tho and I shall make the greatest of live-in partners... truly, the bestest of best friends... and 'tis for the better as there are countless, seemingly endless, and endless years... a feeling of eternity, truly, as though time is never-ending and we are but two best friends living in a cave for the entirety of it... yes... living in a cave and having a lot of great times together- telling one another stories and making one another laugh and talking about women and their bodies. I am so very happy that tho hath decided to seek me out and liveth within my domain and be my bestest friend, Bran Stark. But though it is pleasing to me, from the onset of our friendship here in our cave, I must needs stress that 'twas my cave first, as you know, and of the two of us, the two very bestest of friends and companions, 'tis I who hath been here in the cave longer and 'tis I who, as the first friend in the cave, owns final say on any decision we make as either friends or live-in partners... cave partners, if you will... eh... be tho in distress, my dearest friend? BRAN: I'm... I'm gonna go... WARNING! FOR HERE BE SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS INDEED FOR ALL PUBLISHED BOOKS IN #GRRM'S A Song of Ice and Fire AS WELL AS ALL TELEVISED EPISODES OF HBO'S Game of Thrones... The Kingslayer (302)

He was intimate with his twin sister... As a teenager he swore an oath he would unlikely be able to keep... He broke the oath he made not long after he made it... He murdered his King and offered no explanation for why he did so... He pushed a young boy out of a tower window... He was labeled Kingslayer by his peers as an insult but embraced the title until it became legendary throughout Westeros... He is Ser Jaime Lannister and he is the truest knight in The Realm. WARNING! FOR HERE BE SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS INDEED FOR ALL PUBLISHED BOOKS IN #GRRM'S A Song of Ice and Fire AS WELL AS ALL TELEVISED EPISODES OF HBO'S Game of Thrones... Born amidst salt and smoke- Just off the Long Island Expressway- Beneath a bleeding star... The Royally Official Fictional Analysis of Fictional Characters from Game of Thrones continues with a long, mostly-focused look at Ser Jaime Lannister, the former Lord Commander of The Kingsguard, The Savior of Kings Landing, and the truest knight in all of Westeros. From his arrogant visit at Winterfell and his mishaps and miscalculations in The Whispering Wood, all the way to the loss of his sword hand and the adjustment of his mindset to fit the current conditions of The Realm, The Princes That Were Promised cover Jaime's entire narrative through Game of Thrones. He is Seannie-Wan's favorite fictional character of all-time. He is fast becoming one of John's favorite characters. How can #TPTWP justify this considering all the unfathomable actions listed above? The Princes That Were Promised are John and Seannie-Wan. Join them as they tear apart Westeros and sift through the pieces to bring their Leal and Loyal Subjects the history of the Realm and The Known World from both George R. R. The Crypts Teaser (Sp3.2)

The Promised Princes are surprisingly teased by a surprise teaser announcing the transmission date for the first of The Final Episodes of HBO's Game of Thrones! Although John announced the date long before HBO executives sat down to make any decisions whatsoever, and although John and Seannie-Wan both announced that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss would finish adapting The Great Procrastinator's story long before The Great Procrastinator was finished telling it, #TPTWP did not foresee an actual teaser preceding the date reveal. Also, it should be noted that The Promised Princes foresaw that no matter which method of revealing April 14th, 2019 as the premiere date that HBO chose to reveal the April 14th premiere date, it was bound to be a better method of revealing an April 14th premiere date than melting a giant block of ice the size of Harrenhal on Facebook Live. The average Sunday Night HBO viewer would not think that there would be a metaphorical ton of entertaining conversation to be mined from a short teaser trailer. Mayhaps that is the true difference between an average Sunday Night HBO viewer and The Princes That Were Promised. Yes indeed, at the drop of a hat, John and Seannie-Wan are able to cover every angle and every possible take on The Crypts Teaser. More importantly, The Promised Princes are able to stray away from the silly and giddy analysis you might find on other internet streaming audio shows or YouTube channels. This analysis is hot and fresh, exciting yet grounded, and clever without being conceited. So Royally confident in their analysis of this teaser are #TPTWP, they gave the Royal seal of approval to the above analysis of their analysis. The Princes That Were Promised are John and Seannie-Wan. The Mad Queen (301)

The Mad Queen is a title befitting Queen Cersei Lannister... or is it? Yes. Yes it is. The Princes That Were Promised begin their journey through the journies of the lead characters of HBO's Game of Thrones as The Final Episodes draw near. In less than four months, the journey that began in 2010, and redefined what prestige television can be, will be over and... frankly #TPTWP have no idea what Westeros will look like when the final closing credits hit the screen. Royally speaking, John and Seannie-Wan only know what is behind them, as it were, or rather what is behind the character that is the focus of the Royal contemplation, though admittedly this look back, be it metaphorical or intellectually metaphorical, doth work under the assumption, Royally or no, that time, in both a fictional story and a non-fictional conversation about a fictional story, can be viewed in a linear way. In other words, vis a vis, the completely fictional journey that has brought these fictional people to their final storylines can and will be spake about. This is the official The Princes That Were Promised run-up to what will very likely be the most-watched six episodes of television in HBO's history with viewership that we will never see again... probably. Begin the journey again, in a sense, sort of, with a analysis and rehash of Cersei 'Why Isn't Her Last Name Baratheon?' Lannister and her journey through the 7 series of Game of Thrones. Just don't forget to Remember Lady. #RememberLady The Princes That Were Promised are John and SeannieWan. Arbor Gold From France (Sp3.1)

They have a song... They are The Princes That Were Promised and their's is The Song of Ice and Fire... John and SeannieWan return for their 3rd Royal run of episodes. Herein layeth for thine pleasures of thy ear the most Royally newsworthy and Royally new news. Mayhaps tho hath heard already some of the Royal words to be spake by the Royal mouths, but from the vile tongues of peasants, plebeians, and men of the gutters. If this be so, then tho hath heard not the way these tidings were intended and tho wouldst be wise to use thine earholes to receive this Royal blessing. WARNING! FOR HERE BE SPOILERS!!! A complete re-watch of the series was documented, analyzed, and streamed via the interweb for loyal listeners. That official re-watch can be found in #TPTWP archives. The lead up for Game of Thrones: The Final Episodes will be approached in a different way... a more interesting and more accessible and far less complicated way... Royally intrigued? The first episode for The Princes That Were Promised Official Re-Education in the Main Characters of HBO's Game of Thrones and Their Stories will begin streaming this week. Stay tuned to the feed... or lose your head... not metaphorically... like The Promised Princes will cut off your head... and they will do it themselves because those who pass the sentence must swing the sword. It is titled A Gift of Arbor Red and was created by Nicholas Gregory for Fantasy Flight Games which has a plethora of great ASoIaF/GoT artwork that we try very hard to not use anymore often than we do. Breaking Wind... of Winter (Sp2.11)

On the eve of the release of... like... the 3rd major A Song of Ice and Fire publication since A Dance With Dragons that isn't titled "The Winds of Winter," #TPTWP find themselves struggling to identify a strange and uncomfortable feeling that overwhelms their Royal Persons re:ASoIaF. The Promised Princes sought out mental health professionals for help, and they did their own Royal Research into "Human Feelings" and "Human Emotions," so as to identify what this feeling was. The conclusion that the Royal Research and the Royal Mental Health Professionals both came to was that John and SeannieWan were no longer feeling Angry and/or Frustrated each time The Winds of Winter came to their Royal Minds, but instead they were suddenly and inexplicably feeling a feeling that most commonfolk call "Hope." Hope had never been a feeling that #TPTWP associated with The Winds of Winter... or George R. R. Martin... or A Song of Ice and Fire. Ergo... What gives??? John and SeannieWan discuss the very real possibility that their trolling of #GRRM may have been unnecessary and misinformed, albeit briefly is the adverb to describe the speed of their disussing, and brief is the discussion which they briefly discuss. Has HBO been the real reason/motivation behind the inconceivably long wait for Volume 6 of ASoIaF since the release of Volume 5? Has there actually been a reason for the wait all along other than The Great Procrastinator doing what he does best- Procrastinating? It's not TV... It's HBO*, but is it also why this professional writer has been unable to finish a professional project in nearly 8 years? If so, is it possible that #GRRM has been one step ahead of us the whole time? Not likely... probably not... but maybe... but most likely probably not... In the biggest twist in all of non-fiction since the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, John does what the pro-wrestling fans "in the know" would call a "Face turn," and finds himself siding with The Great Procrastinator. In addition to all the "Hope" that The Promised Princes are feeling and discussing, John and SeannieWan put the pedal to the metal and discuss The Winds of Winter as though it were the ASoIaF being released next week instead of Fire and Blood. The Wardens of Long Island doth engage in a top-notch, professional-level-conversating conversation re:The Winds of Winter, and thus catch themselves up on the ASoIaF characters and storylines that will surely make up the narrative of The Winds of Winter. They also theorize as to where the narrative will go and how the cliffhangers of A Dance With Dragons will be resolved. "Really really good stuff this episode!" - George R. R. Marlin (editor of Wild Cars) "#TPTWP have really done it this time!" - George R. R. Martington (author of The Gang of Throngs) "...truly this is a podcast... not... bad... good!" - Eli O. (content editor for Westernbros.org) Head's up! Possible SPOILERS for non-ASoIaF properties... 7:30:00 - Possible spoilers for 'Avengers 4,' though highly unlikely. 14:10:00 - Possible spoilers for 'Star Wars Episode IX,' though probably not. The tweet that began the hype which led to hope... Shortly before this episode was made available, news of Stan Lee's death at 95 years-old broke on every major news outlet. To say that Stan Lee and his imagination directly molded our preference and enjoyment in and of fiction would not be nearly enough to do justice to his imagination and his influence. To say that our own creativity is what it is because of those properties and ideas that Stan Lee created would be a shade of what should be said to honor how true that is. To say that the work Stan Lee did, along with the work he procured, developed, and distributed, has become or was the basis for all quality fictional media entertainment in 2018 and is truly enjoyed by millions and millions of people around the world would only scratch the surface of the legacy that he leaves behind... A Freaky Doctor, Record Emmy Wins, and Scary Spoilers... Maybe... (Sp2.10)

The Final Episodes of HBO's Game of Thrones feel like they arbe years away. The Royal Wait is growing worse than the wait for Season 6B of The Sopranos, but it beats waiting around for the "Book" that What's-His-Name claims to be writing (montly #GRRM-bashing quota met!). The Royal Mantra is to enjoy the wait for Season 8 because once it arrives, the series will be over before The Royal Realization comes. Essentially, this is the sweet spot- the time to feel good that The Final Episodes are in post-production and the only thing keeping them from The Royal Television is the time that will be filled with speculation and Royal Excitement... But what if there was a huge spoiler that has been whispered upon the lips of Redditors and YouTubers since the Season 7 finale aired? Wouldst tho open Pandora's Box? John and SeannieWan temp fate and expose themselves to the huge POSSIBLE spoiler... maybe. John can't help himself and has been spoiling himself since the early 2000's. SeannieWan has a bit more self-control but can't pass an opportunity to have an edge in knowledge on non-book-readers. Before #TPTWP get themselves stuck in the spoiler-y muck and mud, they take a look at the phenomenal victories that HBO, David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and the Game of Thrones production had at the 2018 Emmy Awards. Was The American Tolkien at the Emmys? Did he get a statue to take home to further distract him from the task at hand? Did the producers of the Emmy Awards do yet another funny "bit" where the host or a presenter points him out in the audience and the director of the Emmy Awards says, "Take Camera 4!" into his headset so that the live broadcast on whatever stupid network gives us a medium close-up of The Great Procrastinator grinning like someone that is in over his head as he slaps at a fake typewriter on his lap with the sausage fingers of his ham-hock hands? Maybe. #TPTWP didn't watch because the only thing worse than Senor Martin grinning like someone that is in over his head is Hollywood sticking their celebrity noses up each other's celebrity butts. But John and SeannieWan discuss the awards before they discuss possible spoilers... maybe... for The Final Episodes. If tho don't wisheth to hear thy spoilers... possible spoilers to be specific... maybe... be warned that spoiler talk begins at the 27:00-minute mark. Yakkity Sax, which was the great music during the chase scenes in The Benny Hill Show, will play as a final warning. If you continue to listen after Yakkity Sax, prepare to possibly be spoiled... maybe... But also prepare to experience intelligent, thoughtful, and entertaining conversation all about the possible spoilers... maybe... If you wish to check out the possible spoilers from the source of the possible spoilers, The Royal Link is Right the F' HERE. The Princes That Were Promised are John and SeannieWan. The Mormonts You Know/ The Mormonts You Don't Know (208.2)

All of the Noble Houses of Westeros celebrate their own Lore- stories of heroic deeds by ancestors whose names are well-known not only by their descendants and vassals to their House but by nearly all Great and Noble Families throughout Westeros, as well as the smallfolk of The Realm. That is to say, all Noble Houses celebrate their Lore except House Mormont of the exceptionally boring Bear Island; a House which seems to have no Lore whatsoever. The Maesters and The Citadel have a difficult enough time to identify the patriarch of House Mormont even 2 generations past. They know that there were Mormonts in House Mormont because the history of Westeros retains events in which Mormonts belonging to House Mormont were involved. However, learning a name or any sort of personality trait to whichever Mormonts that certainly belonged to House Mormont that were a part of whatever history that Westeros history claims them to be a part of has proven to be far too difficult of a task for any of the "educated" population of Oldtown. While The Starks of Winterfell can be traced back thousands and thousands of years to The Age of Heroes, The Mormont family tree seems to go back only so far as Jeor Mormont... so like... 60-something years... albeit very incomplete for a 60-something year-old Family Tree. Ser Jorah Mormont is the Westerosi character upon which The Promised Princes focus their research and discussion. However, Lord Commander Jeor Mormont of The Night's Watch, who is Ser Jorah's father, is also examined. So too then are the many Mormont women to whom Jeor is Father and/or Uncle, to whom Jorah is nephew and/or cousin, and allegedly whom the big-a## hairy Bears of Bear Island bring to "Mormont Makeout Point" at the top of "Makeout Hill" in the south-eastern woods and forests of Bear Island. John and SeannieWan pick up with The Mormont Family Tree... or lack thereof... and move along through Ser Jorah's narrative until the climax of A Game of Thrones and Ser Jorah's continuing struggles with childbirth. Also covered in conjunction- Robert's Rebellion, Ser Jorah's thoughts on The Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, House Martell's loyalty to House Targaryen, The 4-1-1 on the Friendzone and at which point in his narrative Ser Jorah unwittingly began to back slowly into it. If you have not yet listened, it is advisable, though not completely necessary, to stream #TPTWP episode 15.1: Wood and Fish and Bears, Oh My This episode is important as the history of House Mormont's seat at Bear Island is covered and (possibly) [not likely] sheds a decent amount of metaphorical light upon many of the motivations and characteristics of both Ser Jorah and his disappointed father, Lord Commander Jeor Mormont, 'The Old Bear.' The artwork used as the cover art for this episode was created by digital artist Valeria Jortagul. The piece is titled Jeor Mormont and it features an absolutely dynamite portrait of The Old Bear holding Longclaw with a bear's head at the weapon's hilt instead of Jon Snow's iconic direwolf where the bear had once been, or where the bear is as it were within the timeline of the digital art, and Mormont's Raven upon his shoulder- a bird of dark wings that generaly carries dark words, or rather just repeats the same word over and over again. To enjoy more of Valeria Jortagul's digital artwork, including her beautiful portraits set in the fantasy genre, you can click the link Right the F HERE.
