Description

A series of messages from individuals in recovery sharing their experience, strength and HOPE with people around the world. Inspired by the creators of The Recovery Pod podcast.

This podcast is designed to help people who have struggled with addiction, mental disorders, thought disorders, ego, identification, anxiety, depression, and any other human condition symptom. We take concepts from the 12 Steps, Buddhism, and authors like Eckhart Tolle and Don Miguel Ruiz.

We hope you find your path to freedom and if that path leads you here, we are glad to share this Hope with you.

Yup, more relationship talk. It’s a major part of our lives and leads to the most insanity in recovery - in my professional poor dating habited opinion. Here I break down what barriers come along with incompatibility and how it can throw us deep into cycles of non-acceptance and insanity, and ways you might find helpful to get out of it. Follow our Facebook page, join the group, email a Message of Hope, or scroll our videos on TikTok. We have little nuggets of Hope all over the place! Also, check out the main podcast The Recovery Pod returning soon with new guest features and impactful conversations. And my new podcast Therapy Ruined My Life for a more mature take on relationships and self improvement.

After a 5 month disappearance, I come back to share my thoughts on complacency and the need for validation- two things that I’ve allowed to contribute to my absence. Hope you are all still living in the solution and making progress in your journey!
In this episode I share my experience and Hope about dealing with feelings in recovery, and days where it feels difficult to manage those feelings of hopelessness. Sometimes our recovery is dependent on surviving through times that tempt us to escape feelings of hopelessness and pain, but if we can allow ourselves to just be, we can make it through these times with newfound Hope that We Do Recover.
In this episode I share my thoughts about what I feel the considerations are when people ask what is “clean” in recovery. These are my personal views and should not be taken as ultimate truths. There are many things to consider when asking this question, and my hope is to present these views in a way that challenge people to look a bit closer at the behaviors surrounding their actions more than the ingestion of a substance. Different programs will define what is sober or clean in different ways, and it’s important to respect the program you attend IF you intend to receive acknowledgement from that program. Specifically I mean something like AA or NA. When it comes to Suboxone, methadone, medical marijuana or even prescribed medications like Xanax or Morphine even, there are ways to medically follow a doctor’s guidelines and still live in alignment with recovery principles. Just as there are ways to live deep within the grips of our addiction’s disease while abstinent from all substances. Join me on this conversation, and please share your thoughts on this episode. You can contact us via email at therecoverypod@gmail.com or on our Facebook group The Recovery Pod. Appreciate you listening 🙏🏻 please take the time to leave a review and rating.

In this episode - Hope is necessary for us to recover. How to create it when we have none, the effects of having even a little, and how to clear the negative mindset to make room for hope. Join us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for more connection, content and fellowship.
Is it possible to live a life without getting high? If I’m a full blown addict, is there any hope for me? Can I really be okay and feel my feelings without wanting to jump out of my own skin? Can I really learn how to live differently? The answer is yes. Everyone has the capacity to change - if you want to.
In this episode I share my thoughts about the obstacles of being stuck, how to get un-stuck, and some common strategies I used to prevent from getting stuck in recovery and in life.
Settling a car insurance claim for a totaled vehicle is a NIGHTMARE when dealing with people who seemingly lack the spiritual foundation of recovery principles. It’s a dirty, manipulative and greedy game of wheeling and dealing, and how do we play the game while staying within our principles of honesty, open-mindedness and willingness? We can do it! Listen to my journey as a recovering pushover blossom into an assertive advocate for myself that turned a 2000 joke of a settlement offer into a fully covered 5700 used car reimbursement claim! This can be an EXTREMELY difficult reality to find yourself in. How do we accept that we are powerless over others’ addiction when it’s someone close to us? Someone we love? Our own children? This is the heartbreaking truth that comes along with loving an addict or a person struggling with a substance use disorder. We need to remember to practice love and empathy, knowing their road is not easy or preferable, but we also need to take care of ourselves and protect ourselves from harm. Listen for tips on how to do that on the podcast.
This can be one of our biggest pitfalls! Follow us on Facebook and join our group, become a friend, meet others in recovery, help someone stay another day ❤️
This one is self-explanatory, but surprisingly one that leads to relapse most
This one is up there with ancient aliens, cosmic enlightenment and space monkeys. Seriously, please reach out to me if you feel me on this one. Let me know I’m not crazy. therecoverypod@gmail.com

This is a follow up to an episode published on The Recovery Pod’s main page, addressing the perspective too many of us get caught in believing: “It’s Just The Way I Am!” This is a trap, and a flat out lie. None of us have a predisposition to be a certain way, and we are all capable of change. Listen in for some tips and follow us on our main page for group podcasts, 3 years of content, and much more!
Messages of Hope is a series of perspectives for people who have found a willingness to seek solutions and live life of life’s terms. People who have struggled with addiction, mental health, anger, anxiety, depression, fear, control, or just about any behavior that has caused harm. We are a self improvement podcast of individual messages originated from The Recovery Pod - a podcast about addiction and recovery. We have a community on Facebook that we welcome all who want to join to become a part of. We also have a willingness to speak to people who want to share their story or have a conversation about their experience with any of these self-help concepts. We gain our experience from 12 Step programs, books from the likes of Don Miguel Ruiz and Eckhart Tolle, and discuss the concepts of spirituality and mindfulness in many of our discussions. We invite you to send your story, request a topic, or simply share your thoughts about the podcast to our email therecoverypod@gmail.com and we ask that if you’re a regular listener that you leave a rating and review to help our show reach more listeners who may benefit from it. Thank you for your continued support.
