This week, we chat with Bart van den Akker, the man behind one of Europe’s largest retro computer collections at The HomeComputerMuseum in the Netherlands.  Learn about the unique features and challenges of maintaining and restoring vintage machines, including the day when a 6-meter truck delivered the world's largest PC-Games collection. Bart shares insights on recreating nostalgic experiences like LAN setups with MSN Messenger, the significance of the Dutch-designed Estatos computer, and the role of piracy in software preservation. Twenty minutes of talking before getting to the topic is way too long.

Be careful regarding Curve. The reviews have a lot of unhappy people losing money and feeling ignored by customer service.

I don't remember their games so much but the cover art on Psygnosis games back then was unreal! All that beautiful Roger Dean artwork!!

I was never a fan of the Tomb Raider series but Nathan certainly makes it sound like it was something exciting. I just remember renting the first one and being bored.

Only recently heard of some controversy around Kieran, not sure what to make of it, regarding his writing credits as well as programming/developing games. Regardless, this was a good interview on Dan & Ravi's part.

While I've not watched Black Mirror (or Bandersnatch) I'm aware of it, but what I didn't know was what a long and varied background Brooker comes from. this was a great interview, perfect for the 200th episode.

Great chat with Rare. without Golden Eye , there would have been no Call of Duty. Must have been great changing from ultimate 8bit games , to eventually 64bit.

Great podcast. Leans very much towards Amiga. It's a shame that there weren't any British computers around in the 80s......

The title of episode 145 was misleading: since this entire show is dedicated almost solely to the Sega perspective of the Genesis/Mega Drive era, I was incredibly disappointed 😥
