In this MEN'S mental health awareness month we talk MEN:)I was recently faced with a situation where a male friend called me and couldn't stop crying. It was a sudden realisation that i have not paid attention to this -i have never seen a man cry! And, i had no words to console him. I just kept mum and then quickly added -let's coffee! And, that is the germ of this episode. Why don't men express themselves? Especially in front of the women in their lives? Is it a cultural thing?Or is it ingrained in them to be MACHO?Something underlined by moviemakers and advertising makers?Time to correct this ?Our guest is Dr Kersi Chavda- an eminent psychiatrist with a huge clientele of people in the public arena- from politicians to actors etc.We talk:Men don't cry and why?Major symptoms in men's mental healthA lot of artists, actors and politicians are ur clients-what are major areas of concern when it comes to people in the public arena? What needs be done to take care of it?You can double this up with EP 37 of THE SOS SHOW with Dr. Kersi Chavda on Mental Hygiene. I am terrified of the word INFLUENCER- WHICH IS why i have been talking to a few influencers to understand more of what they think of being an influencer.I rarely and only when needed go on instagram or facebook- because these best celebs and influencers living the bestest lives can make one feel shaky and i am not sure how many of you out there feel the same.... And, then comes the news if a celeb suicide and influencer suicides and i wonder why did people who have or are projecting their best lives with possible fame and money END IT ALL.What is the psychology behind this influencer culture Suchita digs psychologist Roshni Sodhi Abbi, the Lead Clinical Psychologist at the Department of Mental Health & Behavioural Sciences, Fortis.

Do you know that your brain works in different frequencies through out the day- from the time you get up to the time you fall asleep, and while you are sleeping!; these frequencies are defined as beta, alpha, theta, gamma, delta. It is being researched and proven that the slower your brain wave frequency, the better your mental and physical health. It is also being researched that slower brain wave frequency, gives you access to your subconscious mind- and it is being proven that our life, our decisions, our behaviour - in-fact, who we are, 95 percent of it, is controlled by our subconscious mind and 5 percent by our conscious mind. So, whats the big deal here? The big deal is that, we do-not know, that 95 percent of the time, we take decisions that are controlled by our subconscious programming. And, if we access our subconscious mind and re- programme it according to the WE that we want to become, or the life that we want to create, we will be able to manifest and fulfil the life, we exactly want to live. So, again how do we do this? By being able to control our brain waves and access our subconscious mind more frequently and reprogram it. Mediations are a way to do it. And, since i have been digging into this bit for quite sometime- i mystically came across this book- change your brain waves by Scholars and researchers Yukio and Susanne who explain this phenomenon through the practise of chantings. This episode is cross-overed between our two shows THE SOS SHOW AND THE ARTISTS.

Dear SOS Show Community,
As we approach the end of another transformative year, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for being an integral part of THE SOS SHOW. It has been an extraordinary journey filled with meaningful conversations, insightful stories, and a shared commitment to mental health awareness.
This year, we proudly added 20 episodes to our collection, contributing over countless hours of content aimed at fostering understanding, empathy, and resilience. Among the highlights were episodes 116 and 118, where we delved into the experiences of caregivers and ventured into the stories of mental health founders in episode 120.
One standout episode that resonated with many was episode 116, focusing on sensitizing people to the importance of mental health. This episode became our most shared, a testament to the power of our community in spreading awareness.
Our exploration into the depths of mental health in smaller cities and towns in episode 111 shed light on crucial issues often overlooked. Additionally, we embarked on a creative journey with episodes delving into the intersections of artists and mental health, covering topics like compassion, synchronicities, forgiveness, ambition, and the significance of understanding one's ambition.
Episode 106 took a deep dive into the foundation of healthy relationships, discussing the importance of building trust. We placed a spotlight on caregivers in various episodes, emphasizing the indispensable role they play and why it's essential for them to receive care too.
As we stand on the cusp of a new year, we want to assure you that THE SOS SHOW will continue to evolve and gently shake things up. Our commitment to bringing you valuable insights, fostering dialogue, and promoting mental health remains unwavering.
Thank you for being a part of this incredible community. Together, let's continue to break down barriers, raise awareness, and support each other on our mental health journeys.

In this cross pollinated episode between #THEARTISTS N #THESOSSHOW, we have actor Abbas Ali who was the face of Late 90's and early 2000's cinema in Tamil and Telugu having worked with the likes of Kamal Hassan and Rajiv Menon, and also with actors like Tabu and Aishwarya Rai. In this Artists and Mental Health Series, we discuss some of the potent questions on what makes an actor and also Abbas had such an open mind and open heart in letting himself be known, in becoming vulnerable and coming from a place of acceptance. 1) Being one of the top stars in 2000's to taking a divergent route to work out of the industry doing various odd jobs. 2) What attracts people to this industry- that is actually non glamorous on the inside. 3) A Period of ; no films working.4) Strength and mental health during tough phase.5) Learnings for other actors and artists.6) Mindset and support systems.
