Parents, especially immigrant parents who work multiple jobs and make significant sacrifices, often struggle with how to communicate these sacrifices to their children without burdening them emotionally. It’s important to explain responsibilities and sacrifices in a way that fosters understanding but doesn’t make children feel guilty. Here's a step-by-step guide for parents on how to navigate this conversation, what to avoid saying, and how to frame sacrifices in a positive way.

THE YOFTAHE SHOW
When:
Sunday December 06 2020 @ 1 : 00 PM EST
What:
As the axiom goes:
"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime."
"But teach a woman to fish, and everyone eats for a lifetime. "
Four remarkable women will share how girls and women can, and are, overcoming the forces that keep them in poverty.
We will look at the broader systems that prevent women from leaving poverty behind.
From lack of wealth, education, healthcare and cultural burdens, most girls are restricted by the external limitations placed upon them.
Our all women panelist will share from their experiences how Ethiopians can be instrumental in helping girls and women break free of restrictive systems and begin to facilitate their upward mobility.

No matter who you are or where you come from, everyone of us can make a difference.
Every action counts.
Each June 20, the globe comes together to honor World Refugee Day.
The United Nations General Assembly launched the holiday in 2000, and since then, the worldwide community has spent the day focused on ways to improve the lives of refugees.
Most of us know that refugees are forced to leave their homes due to war, terror, or other crises—but fleeing their home country is often just the beginning of a difficult journey.
Many refugees find themselves living in camps until they are resettled—some of which are dangerous or not well-equipped for long term living.
Refugees don’t always have a say in which country they are ultimately relocated to, and the bureaucratic process involved in finding their new home can take years.
Worldwide refugee crises have taken center stage in the news in recent years, so it’s more important than ever to share support and to celebrate World Refugee Day.

« Our brain is like a tiny cosmos of its own. It needs to be in balance for us to lead a happy and healthy life and to achieve our goals. I arranged this very naive and simple analogy (definitely with all respect to the genius neuroscience behind it) to make it easier for my patients to understand why thoughts matter. Remember if you are down in the cellar fighting you will not feel well or think in a rational manner to solve your problems. Explained in my book “Das Geheimnis ausgeglichener Mütter“ https://amzn.to/3jhRR7c .
