She was introduced to the Integrative/Functional Medicine approach while trying to help her son who was diagnosed with severe autism right before his 3rd birthday. It was during that time, she began to do deeper research and found that applying the functional medicine approach can be beneficial for her son.

“Azeb Ataro Adere holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with additional courses in Special Education, Family and Child Development, and Early Childhood Development from the University of Maryland College Park. She has expertise in the fields of autism and Applied Behavior Analysis. Azeb Adere has worked with children with special needs for over 15 years in both Maryland and Virginia. Azeb is a founding member of the board and the president for the Ethiopian Eritrean Special Needs community, an organization to share information, provide support to one another, educate, and guide families raising children with special needs so they can become effective advocates for their children.

Mariamawit Yirsalign (Dolly) is a dedicated Program Management professional, loving wife, and devoted mother turned advocate for her 6-year-old neurodivergent son. In her free time, she passionately amplifies the voices of fellow Ethiopians, one health issue at a time. Her extensive background in community engagement and volunteering includes advocating for stigmatized HIV/AIDS patients, supporting women facing breast cancer diagnoses, coaching and mentoring and more recently, shining the spotlight on Autism and it's impact to our Ethiopian communities.
