What’s going on with the podcast? Nothing in 4 months.
At the very least, David is involved. He has tremendous guilt. He tried to convince himself that she was incapable of loving anyone, was a snitch, was a crackhead, a crappy mom, and generally just a bad person just to help assuage that guilt. He had to stop visiting the family because his gifts weren't enough to replace Renee like he hoped they would be. It was too hard to see their pain. Maybe he didn't kill or mutilate her himself, but I bet he lured her there, or told the guy that she snitched on him, or something that caused her death.
I also think the David was into Renee but she would never sleep with him. His stance on Black people, and Renee (allegedly) having a mixed baby, means that Renee put Black men over David in his mind. He's not "over cooperating," he's constantly trying to put them on the trail of others.
David cannot keep his lies straight. He creeps around the death scene. He stalked her family. He had her favorite necklace. He claims he doesn't know the victim very well then contradicts himself constantly. And he clearly does not respect women. He's definitely my #1 suspect at this point.
David is a bit racist, isn't he? 😳
why didnt we hear more about ALL of those pages in the report, the hundreds that they didnt have paper and ink for? surely there were interviews with her friends at the time who have died since then. i dont think David did it, but he knows more than he is saying. he knows they were getting rid of her for snitching and they put her on the side of the road as a symbol not to do that to them. why didnt they send Ronnie's dna in? there just has to be so much more to the story and im not sure why it was all left out.
I REALLY wish she would a) stop interrupting her detective partner and b) actually listen to what he's saying. It's clear that she is just waiting to interject and NEVER lets him speak.
Aauuuggghhh! I am so IRRITATED at how often homicide detectives, when questioning possible suspects, will ask an important question and instead of just waiting for an answer, they'll immediately follow it - before the person can even ANSWER - with, "orrrr, {insert easy response that suspect can then claim and get out of answering more truthfully}." for example "... Take you downtown and play the recording to help jog your memory?.... Orrrr, do you think it's been too long and you just won't remember?" 😳😳😳 wtffffff?? Of COURSE they're going to take the easy answer and not get INVOLVED. FFSSSS. (lol, sorry... It's just a long-term pet peeve of mine.) 🤷🏼♀️
She is justifiably creeped out by David. So am I. But I am skeptical he is the murderer. Instead I think he may bear responsibility for her murder, by being a "friend" who possibly introduced her to "sex work". I don't understand why they are minimizing the sexual element of this crime so urgently. I think this nightmare was created by some monster or monster's, plural, Ideas about sex. I do not think this crime was about "rage" or "retaliation" but about sadism, misogyny and strangeness. I think this time the crime goes against the statistics and Renee may not have known her killer that well or at all. I think think the two were connected through "sex work". I also think a local killer would have concealed her, like Tara Grinstead.
"......because I had no choice." But by all means let's scoff at the idea of human trafficking and coercion. Even though it has existed since forever but only recently been legally recognized. Let's just assume that "Maria" really didn't want to be safe at home. Also, maybe her boyfriend Maurice was the one who beat her up. Maybe it was someone else like a john. I wish this story were not proceeding so naively.
He wears socks with no shoes??! Already you can tell this guy is no good.
Serial killer and very weird guy Charlie Brandt had a similar M O and has not been investigated nearly enough for cases he could be connected to.
weird about the autopsy report. maybe someone gave it to him even though he should have never had it. because they weren't careful with this investigation.
