How often do we sabotage ourselves right before we get to the good stuff, or right before we have to make a decision about something?  There are many reasons why we self-sabotage our happiness. It can be caused by fear of failure, a need for control, old patterning, negative beliefs. The list goes on and on.  In this episode, I discuss what self-sabotage looks and feels like and 3 steps you can take to stop self-sabotaging your happiness.  If you would like assistance or are struggling, I would love to help. Have you ever wondered how some people move through life with such grace and ease even in times of turmoil? Nothing seems to keep them from being positive or attracting more positive situations to them?  What's their secret? Their secret is a daily practice of gratitude and appreciation. And when I say, "daily" I mean "daily". It isn't just some ho-hum feeling grateful for a minute and then not practicing it again for weeks.  I work with many clients in this area. We work on a daily practice of gratitude and appreciation to bring them more peace and ease in life.  I wanted to do something on a larger scale to help more people, so I created an Attract Positivity Through Gratitude and Appreciation 14-Day Challenge. I really love this challenge. It's fun, easy and sets you up for future success in attracting positivity into your life.  I would love to connect with you more inside the challenge. You can find it under the courses tab on either or or through this direct link. I will talk with you soon. Sending lots of love.  Your Heart Space Coach,  Heidi --- Send in a voice message: Support this podcast:

Personal Responsibility is a battle cry for 2021!   I have had so many friends, clients, and colleagues touch upon how personal responsibility is part of their growth path and spiritual path this year. In this episode, I discuss how a call with a client inspired me to record this episode.  When we take responsibility for ourselves and our actions, we leave room for better things and experiences to come into our lives.  Sending you all a big hug and lots of love as we start this year and SEASON 4 of this podcast.  If you are interested in individual Heart Space Sessions, you can find out more information about how to work with me here: --- Send in a voice message: Support this podcast:
2020 has been a challenging year. Many of us found ourselves bombarded with change daily. How did you adapt or pivot to take on this change? In this episode, I discuss why I have been so quiet this year and what it has meant to me now that we are headed into 2021. I also provide some practical tips on how you can learn to embrace change more easily.  I found great solace from going within and really deciding who I wanted to be going into 2021.  I was absent from my podcast and my social media because I was busy working on myself and with my clients to discover the best versions of ourselves.  If you are interested in learning more about Heart Space Sessions, you can go to and head to the "Work With Me" section.  May you all find yourselves more resilient in 2021 and ready for anything that comes your way.  --- Send in a voice message: Support this podcast:
What does that mean...the art of holding heart space? "The Art of Holding Heart Space" is the tagline to my social media presence and website for Love Wide Open. Love Wide Open...the art of holding heart space.   So many people have asked me what it means and how you hold heart space for yourself and others. I will even go as far as to say that holding heart space can literally save the world if we all practiced it. Join me for this episode where we dive deep into the heart of ourselves so that we can bear witness to others. The world needs more of this right now.   I referenced my course, Creating Peace Within, at the beginning of this episode. If you are in a relationship with someone with a toxic personality, you might find yourself defending everything you say or do. Over time you will begin to question your own perspective as each action on your part causes a negative reaction. Does that sound familiar? So many people enter into relationships with toxic partners. There are many reasons this may happen, but for the most part, it is because there is something unhealed or something that you don't even understand about yourself that drew this type of person to you.  I work as a Heart Space Coach with clients around these types of issues. I work with folks to restore their self-esteem and self-worth and help guide them to a more confident self in all of their relationships.  I use an integrative, embodied approach to healing.  You can find me at for coaching work (look for the Work With Me page). We often believe that we are self-aware when we really ARE NOT. Being self-aware helps a person make more informed decisions, and contributes to one's overall wellbeing. Self-awareness makes it easier to identify situations and people that hit our triggers and enables us to anticipate our own reactions. It allows us to make positive behavioral changes that can lead to greater personal and interpersonal success. Being aware of yourself also helps in identifying what your stressors are, so you can utilize the information to build effective coping mechanisms.  In this episode, I will give some tips on how to cultivate self-awareness. It will help you and the others around you.  If you are interested in working with me directly, you can find out more about my Heart Space Sessions 1-to-1 Coaching at or find more self-development articles at  Sending lots of love. ~Heidi --- Send in a voice message: Support this podcast:
Around the world, fears of Covid-19 are spreading faster than the actual virus. Countries are firming up their borders, many businesses are closing, thousands of people are buying with panic, and the majority of us are being asked to self-isolate. It's entirely understandable if you have feelings of fear, anxiety, or insecurity at this time.  We are feeling collective grief: grief for what was, what is and what may be.  We are in an unprecedented time.  The only thing we can control is ourselves in the present moment. Mindfulness and meditation can help ease those moments of doubt and grief. In this episode, I discuss the difference between meditation and mindfulness. That meditation is about quieting the mind, while mindfulness is about being aware of what you are doing while you are doing it.  Granted, there is more to it than that. I give some examples of how to bring mindfulness into your life. It takes practice if you are someone who is always up in your head. I teach mindfulness and meditation to my clients as part of their healing routine. There is a mindfulness blog series over on  I would love to connect more with you. Her book, Parenting The MODERN TEEN:  The secret to understanding, connecting and communicating with your teen in a disconnected, distracted and digital world, is all about raising your teen into a responsible, respectful, reliable, and confident young adult while building a strong connection and relationship with them.  We talk about triggers that are built into us from an early age and how as adults, raising our own children is like playing back old, pre-loaded software. We also discuss a topic near and dear to her, ADHD in teens.  Louise us such a valuable resource to parents. She has a blog series on various topics and a series about ADHD. We have all had painful moments that stay with us. Time can often heal these wounds and painful moments if we let it. In this episode, I discuss a break-up I went through  awhile back and how with time, the pain has lessened. I also read a poem from my book, Roots and Tendrils (available on Amazon) called Heart Cleanse. Heart Cleanse is a piece that talks about pain and releasing it to allow it to form a scar. How are you working through your pain? How are you also seeking out the joyous moments to help you heal?  You can contact me at or --- Send in a voice message: Support this podcast:
We have all been there. We have been on both sides. We have been the one who is in pain and someone says something that just hurts your heart in their kindest attempt to help the situation. We have also been the one that is feeling so much need to try to help the situation that we end up saying something the discounts the pain that someone else is in. Let's always work hard to just stay in presence with someone who is in pain. Often, our presence is all that is needed. Have you ever wondered why you can't stop thinking about someone you were involved with or why you hold on to certain items of theirs? When we get emotionally and phyically involved with a person in a romantic relationship, we create energetic soul ties to that person. It's important to clear those soul ties so that both parties may move on with their lives. Listen to understand chord cutting and why it is important. This can also be done with anyone you have an energetic bond with.  My book, Roots and Tendrils, is a journey through romantic relationships that ultimately leads to self love. What is it in us that makes us lash out at others when we can't sit in our own discomfort? Why do we think it is an act of strength or power to tear someone else down when we don't even take the time to  understand a situation?  We have to dig deep within ourselves to understand why we, as humans, stop seeing other people as human beings with feelings. Why do we stop acting with empathy and compassion when we are in a state of fear?  You can find me at or --- Send in a voice message: Support this podcast:
