This week we bring you a whole show featuring Women in the Blues. Some you may have heard and some you would not expect. It is the 27th anniversary of RBG joining the SCOTUS so it is fitting to highlight these women in the blues from the past and the present, who have lived their struggles and celebrate their triumphs with amazing blues music.  In this episode we feature music from , Katie Webster, Koko Taylor, Bessie Smith, Big Mama Thornton, Shemika Copeland, Janiva Magnus, Shannon Curfman, Joanna Connor, Heather Gillis, Karen Lovely, Danielle Nicole and more!    
This week we bring you the inspirational story of Blues musician Keith Pevoto.  For years Keith has been in the fight for his life as he battles Neuro Sarcoidosis, an illness that led to his becoming paralyzed and blind.  Keith shares his powerful story of how music (the blues) helped transformed his life. Through music Keith shows us that the human spirit is capable of amazing things; indeed, anything is possible!  Jim and Todd also share  some of the music that inspires them and hope this all will inspire you.  Setlist includes music from Jack and the Box, Keb Mo, Tedeschi Trucks, Bonnie Raitt, Mike Zito, Gary Clark Jr. and the Rolling Stones.  
Todd and Jim have a conversation with retiring CEO and President of the Blues Foundation Barbara Newman.  Barbara reflects on the state of the industry today and talks about the core mission of the Foundation along with it's many outreach initiatives including it's COVID -19 relief fund. We also listen to a selection of music from 2019 & 2020 Blues Hall of Fame inductees including Ida Cox, Count Basie, Billy Branch, Syl Johnson, Bettye LaVette sand Pee wee Crayton.
Blues artists are struggling mightily to stay afloat during this pandemic. Times like these often bring out the best in people and this is no exception.  Today, there are several artist driven fundraising efforts which are providing critical funding to fellow musicians - money to help pay mortgages, medical bills, food - critical funding to help these artists bridge the gap to the day when they can tour once again.  On today's show we shine a spotlight on Fueling Musicians, a 501C3 organization founded by Joe Bonamassa which has raised over $250,000 for the cause. We also spotlight new and emerging artists, a group that has been particularly hard hit.  Setlist includes; Shemika Copeland, The Bluesbones, Elles Bailey, Jontavious Willis, Johnny Winter, Altered Five Blues Band, Damon Fowler, Sugaray Rayford, Seasick Steve, Southern Avenue.

We bring to you legends like Otis Spann, Memphis Slim, Professor Longhair, Pinetop Perkins, James Booker, Ray Charles, Jesse Yaw, Roosevelt Sykes and Lachy Doley.  Keep on Talking the Blues!     
Stevie Ray Vaughan - October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990.  This week marks the 30th year of the passing of Stevie Ray Vaughan and the world has been at a loss since. Vaughan became a blues rock virtuoso in a short period of time and left a legacy that others have followed. This week we focus on his music, his story and his legacy.  We listen to Stevie's music as the music of some of the artists that influenced him including Jimmy Rogers, Albert Collins, Albert King and Jimi Hendrix.   There is a little bit of something for everyone. RIP Stevie -  Rock on!    
Jim and Todd explore some of the new music released over the summer.  Setlist includes new music from Dion, Kenny "the Blues Boss" Wayne, Larkin Poe, Sass Jordan, Bernard Allision, Joe Louis Walker, Chris Canas, Kat Riggins, Fantastic Negrito and Whitney Shay.
