In this episode I sit down with a good friend of mine to discuss his physical disability and how it has impacted his life. He was born with a rare disorder that leads to the connective tissue in the joints to harden making it very difficult for him to perform certain daily tasks among other things. Jordan will provide more insight on this throughout this episode. I really enjoy Jordan's perspective and I especially appreciate his sense of humor that is interweaved into everything he does. This week I had the privilege to interview Deserae Turner. Des was shot and left for dead by who she thought were "close friends" near a canal in Smithfield utah almost 4 years ago. She was found 8 or so hours later and immediately rushed to the hospital where she would stay for the next 60 days recovering and having multiple surgeries to help her brain as it was swelling from the trauma caused by the bullet entering her skull. She was in a coma for the first couple of weeks and was in excruciating pain from all of this. The unthinkable act committed by these teenagers has had a very dramatic impact on the Turner family and I still have a hard time believing that someone could do something like this. With that being said, Des has a very positive outlook and continues to find things to do that make her happy. I am excited for you to listen to her as she just gives a glimpse into what life has been like for her since the incident. Thanks for joining us this week, I hope you enjoy.Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.comSupport the show

This week I had the privilege to sit down with three time paralympic athlete and motivational speaker Tyler Merren. Tyler is now putting his time and energy into building the Revision Fitness program to provide accessible workouts for those living with vision loss. In this episode I sit down with Sarah whom I was recently introduced too. Sarah was born in Brazil and moved to the US at the age of 17. However, the trials started much earlier than 17 as she explains throughout the show. Sarah really went through some very difficult and rough times but despite the challenges she faced she has found a path where she has learned how to heal herself and others through the incredible work that she does in dealing with and managing emotion. She is also very proud to be an American citizen and is extremely grateful for the opportunity she has to live here and enjoy the freedoms that we have because of those who have literally laid down their lives for us.Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.comthe Title is borrowed from a quote by Tyrese Gibson.Support the show

In this episode I sit down with someone I recently met named Jimmy. Jimmy has a phenomenal story and an amazing outlook and attitude about life. Jimmy was in an accident at a young age which entailed him rolling his truck and as a result of this tragic event was pronounced a quadriplegic. He had a 3 month hospital stay and an even longer recover and rehab but nevertheless he pushed on and didn't let anything stop him from getting back up and continuing to live his life. This was a really fun interview for me and I just love Jimmy's perspective. Enjoy!Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.comSupport the show
In this episode I sit down with a good friend of mine Sachin. Sachin moved to the US at the age of 17 to begin his studies at Utah State University. When he first moved to the US he relied on others to help him as he was unaware of the tools and strategies used by other successful blind people. Once he was introduced to the National Federation of the Blind he began to interact and network with blind people who had tools,  technology and strategies that afforded them opportunities to achieve success and because of that introduction Sachin would undergo quite a transformation. There were some very difficult times for Sachin as he struggled through his undergrad but he eventually figured things out and would become very successful. In this episode I sit down with my wife's Aunt Rosie and talk to her about her experiences as a caretaker. Her late husband was diagnosed with Kenedy's disease shortly after they were first married.
