In today's episode, I will be conducting autoethnography as a homework assignment for graduate school. Autoethnography involves using personal experiences to describe and critique cultural beliefs, practices, and experiences. Welcome to my Black Girl Educational Experience with your host, Queen Sassy Shumate, your chocolate drop of truth. Throughout this journey, I will be open and honest about my personal experiences, including feeling overly sexualized, judged for the color of my skin, and having to advocate for myself since childhood. These experiences have made me realize that I am still facing similar situations in my adulthood and continue to advocate for myself. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons

Trigger, and what are triggers? Triggers are sensory reminders that cause painful memories are certain symptoms to resurface. ( https://psychcentral.com/lib/what-is-a-trigger ) Healing can be a ruff beautiful experience if we take the time to understand ourselves in a way that brings us healing. And part of that process is being honest with ourselves and getting to the root of our triggers. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons

Emotional Intelligence

2024-09-0929:58

Emotional Intelligence can help us through our healing process. A part of healing is beginning able to identify our own emotions and feelings and healthily process them. Which will allow you to become aware of others' feelings and emotions. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons
We cannot change what happened to us in the past and we cannot change what we might have experienced as children, but we are responsible for our healing. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons
Unapologetic, Unpredictable, Fantabulous and Unforgettable fun podcast of 4 sisters talking about how to maintain a relationship with self.
Sometimes we need to stop and appreciate all the things we have accomplished. We need to acknowledge our growth and be transparent about our experiences. When we share our experiences we can help others grow too. Also, growth can lead to other opportunities that can help us evolve. So be thankful for life experiences and challenges because it builds character. # NoRegretsJustLifeLessons
Releasing to receive

Releasing to receive

2023-10-3018:11

We live in a world where it is hard for us to release things that are blocking us from receiving our blessings, and opportunities. In this episode, I express my perspective on the importance of letting go, so you can keep progressing in your life.
Boundaries are not walls but limits that help you protect your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Boundaries limit how people have access to you, and boundaries teach others how to treat you. But when you're putting up walls, you're not setting boundaries. Instead, you are denying access to yourself to grow and evolve. Take the time to learn from your different life experiences, which will help develop healthy boundaries. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons
Give yourself grace

Give yourself grace

2023-10-1619:51

We live in a world where everyone is just going and going without actually being present in the moment. We are taught to be kind and helpful to others, but we forget to do it for ourselves. We need to stop and live in the moments and give ourselves grace. Giving ourselves grace allows us to breathe and acknowledge our own existence. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons
Remember, every moment of our lives is a learning opportunity. Breaking points are opportunities for us to seek the lessons without distractions. To use those moments to invest in yourself. Gives you a choice to make healthy decisions for your life. It may not feel right or comfortable in the moment, but the result from it adds to your peace. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons
Embrace your singleness!!! Being single on purpose can help you to know yourself better and allow you to focus on your self-care. Self-care is making sure your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being is nurtured. As an individual, you are adding and giving yourself that attention you seek from a partner to make sure you give it to yourself. #NoRegretsJustLifeLessons

When you hear the term "no cap," it means no lie, but in this episode, that's not the case. I'm using the term "no cap" as the meaning of not limiting yourself of your ability and talents. When you hear the word intimate, our minds usually think about a sexual relationships. But this time, I am talking about having an intimate relationship with truth. Having an intimate relationship with truth can help you through your healing process and life challenges.
