It's a relationship that's going to last, forever. So start that relationship really, really young where you have this relationship of trust between the two of you. And it pays often and is pretty cool when you can have older kids that still trust you. So start at a young age.”“For professionals, I would just say be yourself as an educator or a doula and don't be afraid to really jump in there and do it. If you have a passion for it, jump in and do it, but then do it as yourself. A lot of times when I train people, a lot of times people become a doula because they had a doula, and they love their doula, but then they kind of try to be their doula. Follow your passions and be yourself as a doula or an educator because people are going to be attracted to you for you. But if you're trying to put on somebody else, you're gonna struggle with that because you're not going to be as natural with people are going to pick up on that.”Connect with Laura:Laura’s FacebookLaura’s InstagramLaura’s TwitterEmail Laura: Laura@forloveofbaby.comPlease remember that that what you hearSupport the showSign up for my weekly email newsletter: https://trainat.li/emails Snag your free download here: The Mindful Mama’s Guide to Moving better: 5 exercises you can seamlessly integrate into your busy day: https://trainat.li/field-guide Come say hey on social media! Show NotesOn today's podcast. I chat with Dr. Sinead Dufour about her work surrounding pregnancy related, pelvic girdle pain. And if that sounds complex, don't worry. All it means is pain in your pelvis during pregnancy or into the first year postpartum. We talk about the myth that relaxin is the cause of all of these pains in your pelvis and how we can better approach pain in general during pregnancy. So whether you're a clinician or currently pregnant and wanting to improve your pain. So it's important that people kind of understand that outta the gate. So that way if you self-identify yourself in this now umbrella of pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain, now where this, in this nociplastic pain, you can immediately understand you need to go to someone to get some guidance and some help. Ideally, someone who has some understanding and pain science. It doesn't even matter if they don't even live in your same country because most of this care can be delivered really well virtually. Amy Bushatz is the host and producer of the Humans Outside podcast, a journalist and an editor specializing in coverage of Alaska outdoors and the U.S. military. When her husband, Luke, left the active-duty Army in 2016, the family moved sight-unseen to Alaska where they have built a lifestyle around daily spending time outside. Amy enjoys ultra running across her local mountains and plotting new adventures in nature. My top takeaway from this episode was how impactful a time management strategy can be for improving your chances of spending time outside. This can allow you to be intentional about scheduling outside time and then all the benefits that come with it act as a catalyst for improving your inside life as well! What Amy wants everyone to know: Heading outside for just 20 minutes a day really has a whole-life impact.Find Amy Online HereHumans Outside PodcastHumans Outside SiteSocial Channels:FacebookInstagramResources Amy MentionedBooks The Nature Fix and Heartbreak by Florence WilliamsHumans Outside Episode with Florence WilliamsBook 168 Hours by Laura VanderkamAtomic Habits by James ClearPlease remember that that what you hear on this podcast is not medical advice. but remember to always do your own research and talk to your provider before making important decisions about your healthcare.
