Even in times of doubt and uncertainty, God’s faithfulness remains unwavering, and His plans often unfold in ways beyond our expectations. This truth should encourage us to trust in His timing and remain steadfast in our faith. Key Points from Luke 1: 1. Faithful Service Amid Uncertainty • Despite their old age and childlessness, Zechariah and Elizabeth remained righteous and obedient to God, serving Him faithfully. Their story reminds us that God’s timing is perfect, even when it seems delayed. 2. God’s Promise is Sure • The angel’s message to Zechariah highlights that God’s promises are always fulfilled in His perfect time. The contrasting responses of Zechariah and Mary to divine announcements show the importance of believing in God’s word with trust and humility. 3. Dealing with Doubt • Zechariah’s initial doubt led to a temporary silence, teaching us that questioning God’s promises can hinder us, but His plans will still come to pass. Our faith should focus on eternal truths rather than immediate circumstances.Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/faith-amidst-doubt

In Luke 12, Jesus emphasizes the importance of faithful stewardship, urging followers to be prepared and responsible with the resources entrusted to them, as those who are faithful will be rewarded, while those who misuse their responsibilities will face consequences. Biblical stewardship teaches that everything belongs to God, we are entrusted with resources to do good, and those who manage well will be given more, with generosity motivated by love for Jesus, aligning with the principle that we should view ourselves as caretakers rather than owners of our wealth.Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/it-all-belongs-to-god

Surveillance capitalism exploits our subconscious desires, using algorithms to target our fears and insecurities, while the "Myth of More" and the "Hedonic Treadmill" perpetuate a cycle of dissatisfaction and constant yearning for more. Teachings in Ecclesiastes and Luke warn that greed leads to spiritual emptiness and ultimately dissatisfaction. The antidote to greed is contentment, generosity, and living within one's means, with a focus on honoring God rather than accumulating wealth.Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/the-myth-of-more

As Americans, we live in a nation that was founded on three ideals: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And yet, we are one of the unhappiest nations in the world. And “the good life” we’re all searching for is often found in the places we least expect. Which is why Jesus regularly made bold claims that turn our vision of the good life on its head.Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/joy-in-giving

What if living a life of holiness today could unlock a peace and purpose beyond anything this world offers? N.T. Wright and J.I. Packer both challenge us to consider that where we place our hope shapes not just our future, but our very way of life. Josh Stelly explains how the call to holiness is a call to live purposefully, as exiles in this world, pointing to the eternal hope and inheritance found in Christ.Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/you-asked-for-it-josh-stelly-a-living-hope
Generosity starts young, and one powerful way to teach it is by taking kids on mission trips—whether near or far, these experiences open their eyes to the world, making them appreciate what they have and deepen their faith. By serving together as a family, leading with love and discipline, and guiding them toward godly mentors, parents can shape children who grow up with strong values, resilience, and a heart for others.Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/you-asked-for-it-josh-melissa-stelly-parenting

Our mission is to help everyone build a relationship with Jesus, deeply rooted in Scripture and actively lived out through mission. We are called to grow in faith, bear fruit in our relationship with Jesus, and do greater works by following His example. Our core values emphasize spiritual rhythms, relationships, joy, and a commitment to serving our city and the nations, grounded in practices like prayer, scripture, generosity, and community. As disciples of Christ, we strive to train ourselves in godliness, passing on a resilient, deeply rooted faith to future generations. Sermon Notes: https://tpob.org/sermon/vision-sunday-2024
