It’s 1961 in Idaho Falls. The US government’s attempt to set the course for America’s nuclear future turns tragic when the SL-1 reactor explodes, leading to the gruesome death of three soldiers. Or was this an excuse to hide something much darker? Follow Redacted: Declassified Mysteries with Luke Lamana on the Wondery App or wherever you get your podcasts. Yes, it was worth it. America is definitely NOT the morally superior country you make it out to be. Every other country in the world can tell you about all the shit our government does all over the globe, including mass murder, assassinations of foreign political opponents, overthrowing other foreign governments... we are actually worse than many of the people we claim are "evil" and in many cases, we are even responsible for those evil people being in power.

about the red flyers… iranians use “persian”, not “arabic”. these are two completely different languages. it’s a small detail, but it casts the merit of the podcast into doubt - a podcast which at first glance sounds well-researched. to be fair, to unfamiliar eyes, persian and arabic writing look the same because they share a largely common alphabet - eg german and english. same as the common misperception that iranians are arabs (maybe because of the majority muslim, albeit shiite, population)
