כשנשאל נשיא דורנו איך מתאים שמצד א' מודיע ש"לאלתר לתשובה לאלתר לגאולה"‏ – ‏שהגאולה באה מיד, ומצד שני ה"ה מתכנן לבנות בנינים עבור ישיבות וחדרים וכו'?! ענה: "כבר הי' לעולמים"! בעת מסעות בנ"י במדבר העמידו את המשכן גם באותן חניות שהיו שם רק לילה או יום אחד! [ראה מ"ש ברביעי דפ' בהעלותך], ומזה ההוראה שכ"ז שיהודי נמצא בגלות, אפי' לעוד רגע אחד, עליו לעסוק בכל ה"שטורעם" וכו'. ואדרבה: זה גופא תזרז את הגאולה שתבוא מוקדם יותר ואפי' ברגע! ועל השאלה לאחרי כ"כ שנים בגלות מה משנה עוד רגע אחד?... הנה בהתחשב עם העובדה שכ"ז שבנ"י הם בגלות, הנה ה"שכינה" ועמו רבבות המלאכים, וכל נשמות בנ"י של כל הדורות‏ – ‏נמצאים גם בגלות, מובן שאפי' רגע אחד שהגאולה תבוא מוקדם יותר הוא זמן ארוך ביותר בכמות ובאיכות! ובאמת‏ – ‏ילדים לא ישאלו שאלה זו, הבעי' היא עם המבוגרים ה"בעלי שכל"...

The lesson is that as long as a Jew is in exile, even for just one more moment, he must work with the fullest energy to bring Moshiach, and this will cause Moshiach to come a moment sooner. And to the question, after so many years in exile, what difference does one more moment make?...When you consider the fact that as long as the Jewish people are in exile, the Shechinah, along with tens of thousands of angels, and all the souls of the Jewish people throughout all generations, all remain in exile, too, it is clear that even one moment is a very long time both in quantity and quality! This is a question that children wouldn’t ask; the problem is the adults and “intellectuals”....
