1. 믿지 않는 사람들과 멍애를 함께 메지 마십시오! (Do not be yoked together with unbelievers!)

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 6:14

믿지 않는 사람들과 멍에를 함께 메지 마십시오. 정의와 불의가 어떻게 짝하며, 빛과 어둠이 어떻게 사귈 수 있겠습니까? Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

고린도전서 (I Corinthians) 5:10

그 말은, 이 세상에 음행하는 사람들이나, 탐욕을 부리는 사람들이나, 약탈하는 사람들이나, 우상을 숭배하는 사람들과, 전혀 사귀지 말라는 뜻이 아닙니다. 그러려면, 여러분은 이 세상 밖으로 나가야 할 것입니다.  not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.

마태복음 (Matthew) 5:13-14

"너희는 세상의 소금이다. 소금이 짠 맛을 잃으면, 무엇으로 그 짠 맛을 되찾게 하겠느냐? 짠 맛을 잃은 소금은 아무데도 쓸 데가 없으므로, 바깥에 내버려서 사람들이 짓밟을 뿐이다. 너희는 세상의 빛이다. 산 위에 세운 마을은 숨길 수 없다.  "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

신명기 (Deuteronomy) 22:10

당신들은 소와 나귀에게 한 멍에를 메워 밭을 갈지 마십시오.  Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together.

2. 모든 더러움에서 떠나십시오! (Depart from all the filthiness)

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 7:1

그러므로 사랑하는 여러분, 우리에게는 이러한 약속이 있으니, 육과 영의 모든 더러움에서 떠나서, 자신을 깨끗하게 하며, 하나님을 두려워하는 가운데 온전히 거룩하게 됩시다. Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 6:17

"그러므로 너희는 그들 가운데서 나오너라. 그들과 떨어져라. 부정한 것을 만지지 말아라. 나 주가 말한다. 그리하면 내가 너희를 영접할 것이다." "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."

이사야 (Isaiah) 52:11

너희는 떠나거라, 그 곳에서 떠나 나오너라. 부정한 것을 만지지 말아라. 그 가운데서 나오너라. 주님의 그릇을 운반하는 사람들아, 너희는 스스로 정결하게 하여라.  Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of the LORD.

3. 하나님을 두려워 하는 가운데, 온전히 거룩함을 추구하십시오! (Perfecting holiness out of reverence for God!)

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 7:1

그러므로 사랑하는 여러분, 우리에게는 이러한 약속이 있으니, 육과 영의 모든 더러움에서 떠나서, 자신을 깨끗하게 하며, 하나님을 두려워하는 가운데 온전히 거룩하게 됩시다. Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

고린도전서 (I Corinthians) 10:31

그러므로 여러분은 먹든지 마시든지, 무슨 일을 하든지, 모든 것을 하나님의 영광을 위하여 하십시오. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

잠언 (Proverb) 8:13

주님을 경외하는 것은 악을 미워하는 것이다. 나는 교만과 오만, 악한 행실과 거짓된 입을 미워한다. To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

로마서 (Romans) 6:22

이제 여러분은 죄에서 해방을 받고, 하나님의 종이 되어서, 거룩함에 이르는 삶의 열매를 맺고 있습니다. 그 마지막은 영원한 생명입니다.  But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
