Description

This Spring, across the United States, sungazers turned to the sky for an event that would last for a mere 4 minutes - the 2024 solar eclipse.

What makes us raise our eyes to the sky? It's something we're used to in Antarctica, as there are unique phenomena on the 7th continent that can only be seen in polar regions.

In this episode, we (your hosts Keri Nelson and Cassa Grant) discuss our fascination as humans gazing into the sky. We'll talk about auroras, nacreous clouds, and the unique rotation of the sun and moon at the South Pole, that helped us form a profound connection to Antarctica and created impactful memories of our time there.

Taking time to look up and appreciate celestial beauty helps us change in perspective and embrace our sense of awe. Join us as things look up - this week on Antarctica Did That For Me.
