The Pharmacy Residency Program at Santa Clara Valley Healthcare welcomed its first two residents in 2004 and received full accreditation by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) organization in 2005.

There are currently six ASHP-accredited residency programs:

• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency: fully accredited by ASHP since 2005.


• PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency: fully accredited by ASHP since 2017.


• PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency: fully accredited by ASHP since 2019.


• PGY2 Critical Care Residency: fully accredited by ASHP since 2019.


• PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency: fully accredited by ASHP since 2022.


• PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency: fully accredited by ASHP since 2022.
