008 - (English) Chatting with Waqar Rizvi and Kaneez Fatima in Tehran
Description
21st of August 2016, one nice afternoon, I had the pleasure to have some coffee and chat with Waqar Rizvi and his wife Kaneez Fatima in one nice café in Tehran. Waqar and his wife are news anchors for almost 8 years now at Press TV which is Iran's television network based in Tehran and broadcasting in English. They're Pakistanis, thus considered foreigners in Iran. They've lived here around 10 years now and managed to study, work and live a successful life. In my opinion, if you want to work, study or live in Iran as well, you may consider taking some advice from them.
What you’re about to hear is the 8th episode of Persian Podcast. A friendly chat with a friendly, humble and courteous people. I'm not quite sure about this but I'm assuming that this couple are more popular worldwide than in Iran. Imagine you’re a news anchor in one country for almost 8 years and by the time you go out to buy groceries, no one knows you much. You just look familiar or something. Though in some points it could be cool, in some points it's not. Depends on how'd you expect the society to respond to your line of profession. So I encourage you to listen to this conversation where we’ve kicked a little bit of various topics such as social, work and life experience in Iran.
I must also say that you will notice a slight background noise during the episode. I confess that the place wasn’t quite suitable for voice recording in that specific day as it was for having dinner or drinks. A music was played in the café almost throughout the track and that was something I couldn’t do anything about even in post-production process. So bear with me on that. The music isn’t too loud or disturbing though, but it’s something that's just there. And one more thing. I'm also thinking now it'd be much nicer if I'd showed up at least with a gift or present for them where that in specific didn't happen for some reasons and ... Alas. But as they mentioned, I’m also learning from my mistakes and in future, I hope I can correct them all and improve myself.
Above all, I hope you enjoy this episode and feel free to comment and let me know what you think.
