Hospitality businesses have been hit hard over the past two years, and those based in our urban centres have, in the main, been hit hardest. But what’s allowed some to survive while others have fallen by the wayside. Strong foundations, the ability to adapt?

One restaurant business that falls into the survivor category is Hawksmoor (https://thehawksmoor.com/). The steak specialist has diversified, becoming a leader in the meal kit business, and towards the end of last year opening new sites again – in London and New York. Co-founder and CEO Will Beckett talks about staying optimistic, while still having robust views about the industry’s image and the quality of marketing.
