03 Steps to Overcome Trauma & Self-Sabotage with Therapist Brenda Carrillo, MACP.

Today I have the pleasure of interviewing Brenda Carrillo, MACP therapist with a Masters in Counseling Psychology. 
She will be sharing with us the steps to overcoming trauma and self-sabotage and whether working with a Life Coach is effective in overcoming this and moving forward with your goals.
Brenda Carrillo was born and raised in San Diego, CA and graduated from Chula Vista High School in 2003. Brenda is currently working on completing her dissertation and is considered a Doctoral Candidate in her educational journey. She has worked in the “helping profession” for over 12 years, specializing in treating individuals (children, adolescent, young adults, adults, older adults) with severe and persistent mental health issues in a variety of settings. She has worked in group homes, locked psychiatric facilities, psychiatric inpatient hospitals, to outpatient clinics.
Future Doctor Carrillo is currently in the Doctor of Psychology Program (Psy.D.) at Southern California Seminary and anticipates graduation in December 2020.
Brenda received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University in October 2012. She completed 2055 pre-doctoral internship hours towards licensure status with San Ysidro Health Center Behavioral Health Department in 2016, where she worked as a Family Therapist specializing in youth & adolescents and family therapy.
Brenda’s future goals include: completing her dissertation, becoming a licensed psychologist and motivational speaker, starting a non-profit, become a published author and returning to school for a 2nd Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.
Some of her preferred recreational activities include: reading her Bible, spending time with family and loved ones, playing volleyball, training her two dogs, and relaxing at the beach.
