Doug Talks About: Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!

During our live show today, I mentioned that I felt that things were going to soon improve within the Halls of Science. And just like that, it happened! Today, FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary ordered removal of all pharmaceutical representatives (drug company employees) from scientific drug advisory panels! Imagine the blatant and intentional conflicts of interest that have surfaced throughout the years as insider drug employees were placed in decision-making scientific advisory meetings. Once inside, were drug employees incentivized to influence which drugs were approved? I believe this represents a blatant conflict of interest as I can only guess that inside deals were made. But then again, absolutely nothing shocks me when coming from the pharmaceutical industry. On Thursday, from 1:30-3PM Central Time let’s talk about this breaking news in addition to continuing our conversation about why there exists a near total void of fungal education during medical training.
