Nino Fernandez is an actor, influencer, movie producer, and the owner of a coffee shop known as di.bawahtangga. Born of an Indonesian father and a German mother, Nino spent his early teens in Europe to continue his studies. After Nino's graduation, He returned to Indonesia to pursue his career in the entertainment industry.
Nino's began to be known to the public when he became VJ MTV, a hit TV channel among the younger viewers back in the 90s to early 2000s. After that, he later cast in several movies, including the LGBT themed movie coklat-stroberi, where he plays the main character, which landed him as one of the most breakthrough actors in Indonesia.
In this fifth episode of Woke Room, we caught up with Nino over a zoom call and talked about Nino's journey of finding the best diet that works for him. From being a pescetarian, vegetarian, and then vegan, he told us that one of the hardest parts of being vegan is that he had to give up cheese, which is the food that he grows up with. He also shared his personal story of how he convinced his parents to go along the journey with him.
