The response to the comic was immediate and vast, with many fans weighing in on the controversy surrounding the issue's big cliffhanger twist, which revealed that Steve Rogers may have been an agent of HYDRA all along. The discourse began with the book itself but has since expanded to issues of fandom and the responsibility some say creators have to audience members.
