Description

At Westchester University, Professor of creative writing, Kristine Ervin teaches her students how to process their experiences through words. For her, this catharsis is personal. Her memoir, "Rabbit Heart, A Mother’s Murder, a Daughter’s Story," is a book she had been shaping since her mother was abducted and murdered when she was eight years old. While Kristine found herself lost in the wake of that brutal event, processing that loss and that trauma became its own labyrinth, and one in which she at first found her footing with poetry.
