117. Collapsing Your Timeline To Flight
Description
"Collapse Timelines for Your Goal—Without Hustling or Overworking"
A couple of years ago, I started collapsing my timelines. Instead of waiting until the end of the year to achieve my goals, I asked myself, "How can I make this happen now?"
It’s about changing the beliefs you have about yourself and taking different actions to get you closer—faster. You have to ask: What do I need to start doing, and what do I need to stop doing?
Crunching a timeline forces you to evaluate if your current actions are helping or holding you back. It forces you to think critically and creatively because almost everything you’re doing right now won’t get you to the goal you’ve set—you’ve raised the bar. You need 10x thinking to match your goal.
This challenge will bring up doubt, fear, and overwhelm. But those feelings are the exact things you need to face to grow. This is where coaching comes in—work through those feelings every week to keep moving forward.
Your goals are meant to work for you, not against you.
So many hesitate to set goals because they fear failure. But it’s not about hitting the goal—it’s about who you become while working toward it. We chase goals thinking they’ll make us feel a certain way, but the secret is generating that feeling now—before you even get there.
For example, many think they’ll feel confident once they get their flight offer. But confidence isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you create from within first.
Here’s how we’re collapsing the timeline to Flight:
Step 1: Set a specific goal.
Step 2: Identify the result you want to create.
Step 3: What feeling do you think you’ll have when you achieve that goal?
Step 4: How can you generate that feeling NOW? Start with beliefs that feel believable and build up.
By generating the feelings and beliefs now, you collapse your timeline to Flight and get there faster.
