Update: 2023-12-03
Description
December 3, 2023
ADVENT: Hope
The first week of Advent reminds Christians of the profound hope found in the promise of redemption and the arrival of Jesus as the embodiment of that hope. It encourages believers to await the celebration of Christ's birth with a hopeful and expectant heart.
Key Thoughts:
Our Anchor of Hope is Jesus.
Apathy is the Opposite of Hope.
Whatever guides our lives is what we are anchored to.
Sermon Scripture:
Matthew 2:1-12
Zechariah 9:9-12
Hebrews 6:19
Scriptures For Your Good:
Psalm 42:11 ; Jeremiah 29; Romans 15
God Speaks: What is the Lord saying to you?
Personal Reflections: In light of what Jesus has said to you, how might you live differently?
Who needs you to share this message with them?
Family Resource: Create a Hope Map. Draw or list the steps you can take as a family to bring hope to others. Include acts of kindness, volunteering, or supporting a charitable cause.
Discuss the importance of hope during challenging times. Share stories of individuals or communities that have found hope in unexpected places. Brainstorm ways your family can be a source of hope for others.
FOR GOOD Prayer Emphasis: Every day this week at 4 PM, pray that Jesus, the world's hope, will shine brightly in our lives.
