Description

Kicking off season 2 of Car Talk by Gates Auto, we speak with Joe Johnson about his recent success as Salesperson of the Month at our Elkhart location followed by General Motors' plans for its robo-taxi service and Volkswagen's delayed commitment to electric vehicles.

General Motors recently announced that it will be launching its self-driving vehicle service, called Cruise, in San Francisco in the near future. The service will initially be available to select customers, with the goal of eventually expanding to a wider market. GM's robo-taxis will be equipped with a safety driver to ensure the safety of passengers and will be available to book through a mobile app.

Volkswagen, on the other hand, has made a major commitment to electric vehicles, with the goal of becoming a leader in the electric car market. However, VW is delaying its “all-in” investment in electric vehicle technology and infrastructure until approximately 2024 or 2025 due to supply chain costs and constraints.
