General Motors has announced plans to construct a new battery manufacturing facility, which will be dedicated to the production of electric vehicle batteries. The facility is expected to create over 1,600 jobs and will play a key role in GM's efforts to increase its production of electric vehicles. One of the top location contenders is New Carlisle, IN–just west of South Bend.
In other news, an auto dealership in New Hampshire was recently fined $1.25 million for violating consumer protection laws. The dealership was found to have engaged in deceptive advertising practices and charged consumers undisclosed fees.
