Description

Dr. Jacquelyn Pelzer of VA-MD College of Veterinary Medicine joins Mx. Monae Roberts from UC-Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine to talk about the rise of commercial DNA tests. The ways in which we conceptualize and process newly acquired information about our family ties suggest that racial/ethnic identities are fluid and constantly evolving. The tests are forcing us to reconsider the boxes that are used to define us. And, we're doing it to our pets! A mutt is no longer a mutt with the rise of commercial DNA tests. The guests ponder what does it mean for all of us!
