This week on The Dekahedron RPG Podcast, Joe has a special guest! James joins the show to have a lighthearted debate about the best way to create characters: Concept First or Mechanics First?

Joe, a firm believer in the Concept First approach, likes to start with a clear idea of who their character is and then find the mechanics in the game to bring that character to life. James, on the other hand, prefers to dive into the game's options first, letting the mechanics spark inspiration for the character's concept.

Is there a right way? Not necessarily! This episode explores the pros and cons of both approaches, using Tri-Stat DX as an example. We also find out why James might be better off NOT picking "flying" for his Robin Hood character.
