#16: Health & Wellness Makeover with Dawn Viola
Update: 2016-04-01
Description
Woo! Welcome back! I wanted to bring you an awesome health guru today named Dawn Viola! She's the head coach over at thishonestfood.com and is a HUGE believer in taking care of your health first.
Here's a bit about her journey into wellness:
"In a nutshell, I started my career in marketing doing neat things like making documentaries for Disney, copywriting and graphic design. That all changed when I discovered I had the most bizarre combination of food allergies to legumes (beans, soy, peanuts, gums) and some tree nuts, and some melons, and other weird things that flipped my world upside down. I suddenly had to cook everything from scratch (seriously!), so I enrolled in culinary school to learn everything I could about food and cooking, combined careers (marketing and food), became an executive chef, won a bunch of cooking awards, wrote recipes for cool places like Food Network, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, and Applegate Farm, helped write a handful of cookbooks for a few (semi) famous chefs who weren’t such great writers (ghost writing), worked as a culinary and nutrition instructor and motivational speaker for Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, enrolled in graduate school for a master’s degree in holistic health and nutrition education, and that pretty much brings us to present day."
