Description

In this episode Mandyy talks about: a trend she's seen during the pandemic and that's a lot more unintentional spending (especially online) due to boredom, lack of connection and lack of excitement and adventure.

Here are the journaling prompts she suggests, to help you get at why you're really struggling with spending that isn't in alignment or that you later regret.

  • What feelings am I trying to avoid? Or trying to numb?
  • What do I feel like I'm lacking in my life?
  • Is there an area of my life that feels unfilled?
  • The thoughts or feelings that I'm not saying out loud are:
  • What events, experiences or traumatic events have I had in my life, that I might have processed or healed?
  • When I am feeling that my needs are not being met, I can do these self-care things instead to fill the void that I feel needs to be filled
  • And this question will be helpful to help you to come up with ways to feel more connected and less lonely. How can you feel more connected with others?

What can you do in your downtime instead to feel more excited, stimulated, fulfilled and adventurous:

  • Playing board games
  • Read a book
  • Do a declutter, sell stuff on Facebook marketplace
  • Learn how to do your makeup via YouTube videos
  • Geocaching (I LOVE doing this!!!) I use the "geocaching app"
  • Go for a walk/hike/bike ride
  • Go to the park, go to the dog park
  • Rollerblading
  • Attend a fitness class (try something new you haven't before)
  • Spa day at home
  • Virtual reality or gaming, Wii
  • Outdoor tennis, badminton, volleyball
  • Backyard sports
  • Challenge friends or family to a walking or jogging challenge
  • Scrapbooking
  • Paint pouring
  • Hula hooping
  • Try your Pinterest recipes
  • Meditate or do hypnosis
