From walking into the room and forgetting what they came in there for to asking if Rusty (who's 15) is still in the Navy, aging parents are an inevitable part of this thing called life.  
They're set in there ways, they have different ideas and experiences that don't always coincide with the current times, which can be as shocking as it is hilarious. Especially in public or at that already awkward family gathering.
