Dr. Essen is a Naturopathic Doctor, Certified Gluten-Competent Practitioner, and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. He's also the President and Co-Founder of the International Holistic Health Academy. This academy has been ANMAB accredited since 2023. They offer Holistic Health Practitioner and Certified Naturopathic Practitioner Programs.
