When you break it down to the essentials, there are only two things you need in order to start a bookkeeping business:

1. The technical skills to do the work, and

It is not.

You cannot fake your way through bookkeeping…not ethically, anyway. And if you are running your bookkeeping business while doing a bad job of the books, i can sincerely, honestly tell you that I hope you get caught quickly.
