Barb McQuade hosts #SistersInLaw to discuss Jack Smith's superseding indictment, why he used a new grand jury, how he reframed the charges to preserve each count, and his attempt to reinstate the MAL classified documents case against Trump. Then, the #Sisters lay out the scope of the Republican war on voting rights, looking at the push for increased documentation, how naturalized citizens are getting kicked off the voter rolls, and raids by Texas AG Paxton targeting Latino civil rights organizations.  They also break down the Project 2025 plan to put the FBI under the jurisdiction of the executive branch and reflect on what it means for the rule of law.

@19:52: This was another flippant response. The listener's question about a pardon is not obviated by the fact that a trial could not start before the election. The glib answer overlooks the concern about a potential blanket pardon--as Ford issued for Nixon--that would immunize Trump from prosecution, not merely overturn a verdict.
