Lying While Texting

Nowadays, people often communicate by texting each other. However, according to a new study, you should not always believe what you read.

The study was done last year by researchers at the University of British Columbia. They found that people were more likely to lie while texting. In other words, people tell more lies when they send text messages than they do in person.

The researchers said they were not surprised by the result. They said that it was easier to fool someone through texting. That is because it is hard to tell what a person is really thinking by reading a text message. For example, was the sender smiling and joking? Or, was the text serious? It is difficult to tell by just reading a text.
