Description

My world as I knew it was ending. I was just faced with all of the mistakes that led me to that. And I was just like, 'Why am I here? I don’t want to be here anymore.' I wasn’t trying to physically harm myself, but I was thinking I just wish this would end. I just wanted life to end." - Kay Recede

I absolutely loved talking to Kay Recede about her experience with depression, anxiety and vicarious trauma. Kay is a journalist who recently left TV news.

In this conversation, we talk about what led her to making that decision.

We talk about:

  • What it was like when she wanted life to be over
  •  What she did to receive immediate treatment
  • Why putting a name to the monsters of anxiety, depression and vicarious trauma was so empowering
  • Some of the tools she learned in therapy that she relies on most
  • How she has been able to move forward with a love for the present and for life
