Description

We review Francis Ford Coppola's polarizing, self-funded, $120 million dollar, sci-fi epic, Megalopolis. A film forty plus years in the making, which possibily predicted 9/11, is jammed full of oft-disjointed dialogue, Shakespearean theatrics, experimental cinematography and effects, allegedly THC-fueled throughout, undergirded by undergraduate philosophical fixations, bepopulate with very talented performers, and despite most people's reactions, positive or less than, there seems to be a large consensus that it's at the very least, interesting. Is it the (intentionally) funniest movie possibly of all time? Or does it lean more toward being a $120 million dollar Neal Breen vanity project? Will this cinematic-celluloidal instantiation be the catalyst the world needs to begin asking the questions that lead to the dialogue to the conversation that is our very utopia? We sort through some "time, consciousness, and courage", i.e. thoughts and theories, to try to get to the bottom of it all.
