Description

Challenging the outdated assumptions about who gives and how in fundraising, research has found that women are not only more generous than men, but they also give differently, diversely, and collaboratively. In this week’s episode, we break down the myths and misconceptions about women donors and examine the importance of relationship-building, storytelling, and recognition. Women seem to redefine philanthropy from giving across various causes to wanting deeper engagement beyond just writing a check.

Jacqueline Ackerman is the interim director of the Women's Philanthropy Institute at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. The institute believes that gender matters in philanthropy and that perspective, leadership, and generosity are required from women and men in solving the world's complex problems. After joining the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 2012, she has grown her career supporting and leading research on various aspects of charitable giving. Jackie enjoys developing relationships and using her knowledge and experience to deliver research with real-world applications. She brings a deep expertise in women donors, gendered giving trends, and the evolving role of women in nonprofit leadership. She joined us today to talk about how to shift your strategies, build authentic relationships, and tap into the real power of women's generosity.
