Since a little over three weeks now, the settler-colonial state of Israel is embarking on a horrible slaughtering of civilians on a scale that they haven’t shown in a long time.

As the Zionist massacres are unfolding and people are outraged by it, it’s important to talk about why this is happening. How can anyone be so cruel as to bomb almost 4,000 children to death, and then blaming them for it? To understand this, we need to take a look at the settler-colonialism that is at the heart of the state of Israel. I sat down for a video call with Palestinian writer and activist Khaled Barakat, who is part of Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement. We dig deeper into what kind of state Israel actually is, and how it is situated within imperialist politics. And we also talked about a possible solution in the future, imagining a new kind of Palestine, fully liberated, from the river to the sea, and what that would entail.

I hope this episode contributes a little bit to an understanding the current ethnic cleansing, and I hope this helps in our struggle in support of the liberation of Palestine.
