The LTO Consortium has made a significant step with the LTO-10 and a few vendors have announced its availability with, again, some disappointments as it offers only 30TB raw. If you consider the original roadmap it represents a big drop. I discuss all these points in this episode as tape is today only considered for archive and deep archive with a key advantage, its cost associated with its nature being a passive media. Enjoy.
