1. 은혜는 우리를 관대하게 합니다.  (Grace makes us generous)

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 8:2

그들은 큰 환난의 시련을 겪으면서도 기쁨이 넘치고, 극심한 가난에 쪼들리면서도 넉넉한 마음으로 남에게 베풀었습니다.  Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.

베드로전서 (I Peter) 1:6-7

그러므로 여러분이 지금 잠시동안 여러 가지 시련 속에서 어쩔 수 없이 슬픔을 당하게 되었다 하더라도 기뻐하십시오. 하나님께서는 여러분의 믿음을 단련하셔서, 불로 단련하지만 결국 없어지고 마는 금보다 더 귀한 것이 되게 하시며, 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 여러분에게 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 해 주십니다.  In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.  These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 8:3

내가 증언합니다. 그들은 힘이 닿는 대로 구제하였을 뿐만 아니라, 오히려 힘에 지나도록 자원해서 하였습니다. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 12: 9

그러나 주님께서는 내게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. "내 은혜가 네게 족하다. 내 능력은 약한 데서 완전하게 된다." 그러므로 그리스도의 능력이 내게 머무르게 하기 위하여 나는 더욱더 기쁜 마음으로 내 약점들을 자랑하려고 합니다.  But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

2. 은혜는 나눔을 특권으로 여깁니다.  (Grace considers giving as privileges)

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 8:4

그들은 성도들을 구제하는 특권에 동참하게 해 달라고, 우리에게 간절히 청하였습니다. they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints.

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 8:5

그들은, 우리가 기대한 이상으로, 하나님의 뜻을 따라서 먼저 자신들을 주님께 바치고, 우리에게 바쳤습니다.  And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will.

마태복음 (Matthew) 6:19-21

"너희는 자기를 위하여 보물을 땅에다가 쌓아 두지 말아라. 땅에서는 좀이 먹고 녹이 슬어서 망가지며, 도둑들이 뚫고 들어와서 훔쳐간다. 그러므로 너희를 위하여 보물을 하늘에 쌓아 두어라. 거기에는 좀이 먹고 녹이 슬어서 망가지는 일이 없고, 도둑들이 뚫고 들어와서 훔쳐 가지도 못한다. 너의 보물이 있는 곳에, 너의 마음도 있을 것이다." "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

3. 은혜는 전염성이 있습니다.  (Grace has contagious spirit).

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 8:6

그래서 우리는 디도에게 청하기를, 그가 이미 시작한 대로 이 은혜로운 일을 여러분 가운데서 완수하라고 하였습니다.  So we urged Titus, since he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part.

고린도후서 (II Corinthians) 8:8

나는 이 말을 명령으로 하는 것이 아닙니다. 다른 사람들의 열성을 말함으로써, 여러분의 사랑도 진실하다는 것을 확인하려고 하는 것뿐입니다. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.

골로새서 (Colossians) 3:23

무슨 일을 하든지 사람에게 하듯이 하지 말고, 주님께 하듯이 진심으로 하십시오.  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,

디모데전서 (I Timothy) 4:12

아무도, 그대가 젊다고 해서, 그대를 업신여기지 못하게 하십시오. 도리어 그대는, 말과 행실과 사랑과 믿음과 순결에 있어서, 믿는 이들의 본이 되십시오. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity....
