294: Seattle Seahawks 2020 Draft Recap
The Seattle Seahawks went into the draft with a need to improve the pass rush and came away with two defensive ends. Can Darrell Taylor and Alton Robinson help make up the difference with Jadeveon Clowney looking like he may not return to the team? Jarran Reed taking his old number back is the latest clue that Clowney has plans to go to another team this offseason.
Two more players who won't be back are Justin Britt and D.J. Fluker. While Fluker got a lot of love on his way out the door, there didn't seem to be as much there for Britt. After we talk about the player departures, we go pick by pick through the latest additions starting with the team's newest linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Every year the Seahawks release some of the best calls to their draft picks to let them know they're being selected and this year's winning call went to their seventh round pick Stephen Sullivan.
Every year of the draft we have to decode what the team was taking into consideration as to why they approached the draft the way that they did. We go through some of the biggest factors, and also look at the players the team has taken to try and decide if it's a clue for the future direction of the team and we get to try and project the type of impact the player will have. Adam says the player he's most intrigued by is WR Freddie Swain and Brandan likes OG Damien Lewis.
In the second half of the show we talk about moves from the division rivals as San Francisco was able to trade for Trent Williams to fill in behind Joe Staley. The move made frat boy Sean McVay want to pound beers. Adam talks about how he's tired of news writers not following the rules of journalism. We hear your suggestions of the terrifying movie villains combined into one and better at life honors go out to Justin Britt and the people who made the 2020 NFL Draft come together.
