There are times in our lives when we lose people or situations that are dear to us, when we go through transitions and change, and when we have to leave things behind.
When these happen, we can feel a range of feelings that are stronger and more complicated than we’re used to — sadness, anger, hopelessness, shock… Or sometimes denial takes over and we feel nothing.
All of these feelings are part of the cycle of grief, which I talk about on today’s Man Alive podcast episode, with licensed marriage and family therapist and, certified Brainspotting practitioner and consultant, Perry Clark.
In this important conversation we discussed…
* What grief is — the cycles and how they show up
* The importance of listening to yourself
* The reality that sooner or later we all need someone to hold us
* Grief as an opportunity for new beginnings
* Why men don’t always deal with their grief
* Perry’s journey with his own grief, as a man who is both gay and black
Perry talks about grief in a way I want everyone to hear, especially men. Even I learned more about the cycles of grief and how we can care for ourselves in the midst.
When you’re done with this episode, check out July’s masterclass on Building Sexual Confidence and Stronger Connections With Women. I won’t offer this class live again this year, if ever.
You’ll learn the most important tool I teach to have intimacy and sex get more connected and exciting for the rest of your life. You’ll also learn…
* What to do post intimacy/sex, to ensure you haven’t created disconnection that lingers in future experiences
* How to talk about sensuality and sex in a way that isn’t awkward or forced
* The key to maintaining closeness and spark, rather than allowing it to fade.
