How is your soul doing today in these strange times, Culture Keepers? I'm your host, Deborah Axé, of You Are A Culture Keeper Podcast. I'm going to start with a true story. One year ago I was introduced to the work of Isabelle Tierney by being invited to attend her Feel Good Life Challenge. I was going through a confusing breakup, pivoting my career, (like so many during the pandemic), and had just moved across the entire state of California 9 hours away from friends and family. Even though I had studied to be a therapist, I was living in the yellow zone, and addicted to the stress hormone, cortisol without even realizing it.
So, I was really struggling, and my friend Kiki sends me this invitation for a free workshop, which I ignored for 5 days! I reluctantly join, bc everyone seems so dang happy! But in 30 minutes I know this is exactly what I needed ‘cause they were all so real about the level of stress they too were recovering from.
In a few days of Isabelle Tierney's workshop, I learned the keys to self regulation, and her teachings profoundly turned my life around. I went on to take 3 more workshops with Isabelle and now take private coaching with her. I am so grateful to her decades of knowledge on how to short-circuit healing in a way that is deeply lasting. I have mentioned her work in every episode so far, not because I am a groupie, but because her work is so easy to apply and her vision is so profound. She truly has a global vision for folkx around the world to learn to live with Bliss on Earth…
In light of the recent events unfolding at the 2022 Oscars, it becomes apparent how important this work is on self regulation. It was really important to me to provide this info for free. As an ally, I want more communities to have access to these extremely effective tools that can otherwise cost resources of time and money to acquire. I have researched what works for years, and this is the best I have found especially when we are in the middle of a trigger and our brains shut down. Real Talk: We have all been as angry as Will Smith was that evening at the Oscars. We have all wanted to protect someone we love. His experience shows us that no matter how successful we are, it’s important that we have tools to handle our triggers and practice these tools BEFORE they are needed. It can save a life.
