◆ About EditForce Inc.
EditForce Inc. is a biotechnology venture company engaged in drug discovery and seed/plant breeding based on nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) manipulation technologies. The company was founded in 2015 by KISCO Ltd. and Professor Takahiro Nakamura of Kyushu University (Associate Professor at the time, currently Professor). In addition to proprietary genome editing, EditForce provides the world’s first “transcriptome editing” tool, enabling RNA manipulation on a genome-wide scale. This pioneering platform is based on engineering technology for PPR (pentatricopeptide repeat) proteins, invented by Professor Nakamura.Originally studied in the context of plant immunity, PPR proteins are capable of recognizing nucleic acid sequences (DNA/RNA). By elucidating this mechanism, EditForce has developed novel genome design and programming tools using PPR proteins, aiming to apply them across pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and other industries.Official Website: https://www.editforce.co.jp/
